I find some of the songs on SoG pretty boring as they go on for fucking ages…I don’t think it’s a bad album but as it’s sandwiched between two absolute classics for me it pales in comparison a bit.

Looking forward to the special edition of the record.

Am gonna try to get to one of the Type O Shows, Even though I have been into PL since Icon, I’ve never actually managed to go and see em live.
I hated Believe In Nothing and so haven’t really paid much attention to them of late but it does sound like they have returned to form somewhat.

They returned to form on the album after BIN so get cracking with the buying!! SOL is the job and is one of my favourites. I was disapointed with BIN also but SOL really surpassed by expectations.

It’s been 4 years since I saw ‘em, ‘93 on the SoL tour. This was the occasion when a brazier landed on Holmes’ head (twanged by ember, I believe).

I’m only getting the vinyl as a collectable…you get the CD with it anyway.
Yep, I am sailing around with my skull and crossbones flag flying, blasting out the new one. I like it, it’s a lot beefier than anything they’ve done recently and some great lead work…plus they’ve dropped the vocals I think someone round here described as sounding like Nick “taking a shit” :D

I think its great. Always like the orignal anyway. Everything But The Girl cove as a bonus track on the new one, should be interesting. They always make a decent job of cover versions anyway.
Any of ye check out the trailer for the documentry on the enemy cd? It looks promising.

They always make a decent job of cover versions? Their cover of The Sisters’ ‘Walk Away’ was horrible! How Soon Is Now? was pretty lame…and Death Walks Behind You is also shit (though I haven’t actually heard the original - apparently by a band called ‘Atomic Rooster’!)

I beg to differ. The PL version of ‘walk away’ beats the original by miles.
I’m with you on ‘death walks behind you’ and ‘how soon is now?’ though.
The best cover they did is ‘xavier’, I’m curious if they can beat that one this time around.

Isolation?
Don’t think the murdered Walk Away, how could they hehehe. SOM are cool, a bit of a laugh. Tought the Smiths one was good, nothing amazing, but it wasn’t shit. Anyway all of them were bsides or bonus tracks so…
Xavier was great, really different to the orignal.
Ya a cover of Holiday would be class, or ‘girls just wanna have fun’.

ah i don’t know, Kerrang were never big supporters anyway, the rot set in nearly 10 years ago. Some of the letters are a bit serious, mine was more tongue in cheek, but the review was a joke.
Finally got round to listening to the 2 track on the ecard thing, pretty good, hope the album delivers the goods.

Well, I think it’s a bit strange and a bit immature to send hate letters to a magazin, some people are jsut overreacting I guess. but each to their own. sure, the review is crap (the way it’s written and the content)
I don’t care much about music videos to be honest, I usually watch them once or twice and then lose interest. but ‘the last time’ is one shit video, it stuck in my head.
If you like the first two songs you’ll love the album. I’m listening to it a couple of times a day and it keeps growing and growing. so good luck with resisting the urge to download a sneak preview ;)
