No, I’m sure Sunderland are going up automatically, though as a fan I must say I prefer McCarthy, if only he’d had the same backing that Keane has had.

Hmmm… I guess we have a good chance of making the play-offs, but with Cardiff and Stoke breathing down our necks and relying on a major fuck-up from either Preston, Wolves or the Baggies it’s going to be tough. Funnily enough I do seem to enjoy the Championship far more than the Prem. the only good thing coming with promotion would be the derby matches against the scum so we can batter them twice next season and having a real good laugh at their expense. If not, I take a 3rd round FA Cup tie against them :p

Well as long as they don’t take the policing strategy from the Italian’s, I think they will do okay. :p

On a lighter note , here’s one of Messi’s goals for Barca last night. Now watch it and tell me what it reminds you of…

Went to a little charity evening thing last night in a local pub with Don Goodman and Steve Bull (both ex-Wolves) cos my wife (as I have mentioned before)is a big Wolves fan.
Bully was the compere and was his usual Black Country, tell-it-like-it-is self (” ..as you get older, you mellow and you learn respect for people and to let things pass cos they don’t bother you any more…Having said that, Gary Linekar? Yeah, I’d still knock the f*cker out…” :D ) but Don Goodman was f*cking hilarious, had the room in stitches.
He did a great impression of Chuck Berry, too, and had everyone singing “My Ding-a-ling”.
The wife got her stuff signed and had photos and all that malarkey and came away most chuffed.

I think you might have a chance to get some to go up that way, for Europe you really do need to strengthen in the defence & midfield, a bit more technically gifted players - save the blood & thunder boys for the league.
Curbs is just delaying the fall to the Championship. I just pray he can keep most of the players - Benniyoun, Reo-Coker, Ashton & Neil are the one’s I expect to go in the first couple of months. Don’t get me wrong I’d love ‘em to stay up, but I just can’t see it. Sorry boys - prove me wrong hey.

I do enjoy Russell Brand’s articles about West Ham in the Guardian mind. And Zamora and Tevez are in my fantasy football team at work (I’m just about top with 4 games to go and £300 to be won) so I’ll be rooting for them almost as much as you :D

I can see what you mean, but it was the usual “the manager has the full backing of the board” scenario. Dermot/Rico thanks for the support. I would have loved to have seen Tevez & Dean Ashton play alongside each other, as I would have thought they would have been the perfect foils for each others talents. What do think?
Plus Dermot if we do go down, I think Strachan would be daft to over look Ashton if he does get put up for sale in the summer.
