Started by Pip (Philip Kelly (The 29th in roman numerials))

Thinking of travelling somewhere but haven’t a clue how to get to place what to do etc etc… Well maybe some clever Womble could help you out

Or you could just talk about your travels and make everyone envious of you

Or just to talk general crap about travelling do it here ;)

I’ll Start with:

Thinking of going to Belfast tomorrow could anyone tell me where Spring and Airbrake is and is it close to the main bus station?

Pip can’t really help you as I’ve only been abroad twice Switzerland (17-18 years ago) & Gambia (9 years ago).
Irony is I went to Switzerland in August & Gambia in November (still bloody hot).

Good luck with your travels. :)

Been flying to 15 different airports in 11 different countries in the last 12 months alone. Multiple trips to Holland , Belgium , France and the UK , but also single trips to more exotic places like the Caribbean and Mauritius/La Reunion.
Must have a gazillion air miles by now.

Great city trips imo are Berlin , Amsterdam and Stockholm.

Oh and by the way , I’m flying to Amsterdam tomorrow to be home for a 4-day Queen’s Day Party :D

Well, I occasionally venture outside of Holland to go to gigs.

So far I’ve been to Belgium, France (well, the northern bit anyway), Germany, Austria (Innsbruck), der Schweis (Pratteln, going there again may 7th) and Luxembourg (saw the legendary Steve Hackett).

The only thing I’ve learned is that a. don’t go anywhere near Stuttgart with a car packed with suspicious looking goth types (unless you like drug searches by coppers) and b. German custom officers are far more relaxed (they simply ask if you have any cocaine, heroin or marihuana on you and take your word for it).

The Manchester Curry Mile? Did you stop for one at each?!

Bradford is THE place for curry. Lancastrians probably just sprinkle some curry powder on top of a burger and call it multiculturalism! :D
edit: Just noticed you ‘only’ stopped for 2! :p

There’s only two curryhouses, they’re just really wide. And the bar is on the left as you walk in, so that’s half a mile of walking for one curry. That’s not fastfood; that’s exercise.

(EDITED to actually make some modicum of sense…)

No I didn’t stop at each one, cheek!

I actually stopped at 4 - two indian, one bangladesh & one thai. I must admit I didn’t have a bad curry. :D

I know of Bradford’s reputation for curry’s & hopefully when T? decide to play there, I can mix pleasure with even more pleasure - as I hope to see a few T? gigs in the next tour.

and beat your record of 4 curries in the space of one mile? I think most people walk a mile in about 15-20 minutes!

You could speed it up a bit by alternating your curries with take aways and then by the time you’d finished you’d be at the next one :)

I spent 2 months shit faced in a tent in the Alps - that’s always a giggle.

Beer is cheaper than water, food is ace and there are lots of hot european girls floating about in tiny dresses.

I was supposed to be doing some work, but I tossed it off in favour of drinking myself unconscious every day.

:D

Made me happy

Floating about?

That doesn’t sound like a good idea at all. They are either dead or seriously weird …

But fair point, I didn’t specify that I was referring to sex. But should you know someone who has sex with shags (the flying birds) then they need help. Seriously.

We’ve had the cormorant discussion - there was an entire thread dedicated to what constituted a good shag.

I was supposed to be mapping a mountain range in the Hautes Savoie, but I couldn’t be arsed. Turns out that if I had not imbibed 24 bottles of Strasbourg’s finest a day for 2 months, I would more than likely have passed my degree.

Shame nobody told me at the time.

What’s that you say Lassie, they did, and now Timmy is stuck down the well?
