#

Started by Graeme55? (Graeme Williams)

maybe its just a pipe dream, but andys gibson sg and i were chatting on msn one night and he came up with an idea.

what if therapy? plays a gig especially for WoMbles?

i think that’d be cool.

We’d need enough Wombles to go though to cover costs… if we had 200 wombles; tickets would be £10 each. (That’s if cost of hiring is £2000 as I read somewhere on the boards)

where would this gig take place, in Russia perhaps, would be interesting to see how many of us would be there:)
This is a very good idea for a gig! Hope the lads read this (and their manager) and the “WOM only” gig will see the light some day.

Yeah it would be a good idea excepy only 100 - 200 people on WOM are regular posters and most people don’t want to travel so it will probbaly never happen ;) not that I’m hoping it won’t :)

@Viirkokka-A tener a ticket is way to cheap £15 at least

@kossu-Perhaps not Russia that is the furthest place in Europe I could possibly travel

I think the best thread for voting in the WoMmies was about 45 people strong. What’s wrong with letting the general pubic in and playing a dozen gigs in different towns.

They could call it a tour, then record a bunch of new songs to release in conjunction with it - they could call that an album.

I’m a f’king genius I tell you.

I have to say it I think it would be a good idea. And Punkwak - I’d agree with you Holland would be the best place to hold it.

I know this sounds a bit perverse but the play list could be voted on by the regulars, to produce a list of about 20 then the guys could cherry pick from them - one WoMble, one vote, two songs.

And as pointed out by caffinebomb WoMble numbers may be a problem, but we could do WoMbles & friends - I mean I was sounding out the idea with a non-regular (not posting daily) WoMble & between us we could get another six people (they don’t have internet access, that’s why they are not here). Then the numbers shouldn’t be a problem.

I’d personal like to know what Rene thinks about the idea, as someone would have to supply a list of genuine WoMbles for the ticket people.

in theory this is a great idea. but the problem is most of the people who post on here come from all over europe, so to hold it in one specific city would just never work. sure, if it was london i would be straight there, but that’s just me being selfish. good idea though.

ntkog - I would prefer London too, and your right that it would be extremely difficult to pick one city - but it would have to be done. :(

well if i were to be really selfish, i could say it should be in cambridge. andy lives (generally) somewhere around here, or he did a few years ago at least.

Honestly, if the Netherlands could be settled on, why not just spam for a tour that covers the area? Then attend it all as if it was held ‘especially for the WoMbles’? I’ve seen a few shows where about 50% of the people I had already seen before on previous shows. I mean - you get a lot of enthusiastic crowds in most shows anyway. Surely that’s pretty much the aim?

Oh, and I think if people could vote setlists all the time the novelty would wear off a bit. Sure, it’s lovely ideally.. but I’d really like it if Therapy? would just play the songs the’re REALLY into playing at the moment - produces the best shows in my opinion. Only thing I ask for is a SPYF song (any would do - even Whilst I Pursue My Way Unharmed with a drumsolo by Neil).. a humble request, surely? :P

That was ages ago when A&M still had deep pockets - wasn’t one in Liverpool?

An easier to arrange thing would be to tag a WoMbles party onto the end of a gig - when is the next London gig btw?
