It’s a good album, I’m enjoying it a lot. Standout tracks at the moment are Ash and Debris, Requiem, Unreachable, and Sedative God.
The Enemy is actually one of my least favourite tracks - I can’t stand that cheesy female vocal!

Well, I think it’s a bit strange and a bit immature to send hate letters to a magazin, some people are jsut overreacting I guess. but each to their own. sure, the review is crap (the way it’s written and the content)
I don’t care much about music videos to be honest, I usually watch them once or twice and then lose interest. but ‘the last time’ is one shit video, it stuck in my head.
If you like the first two songs you’ll love the album. I’m listening to it a couple of times a day and it keeps growing and growing. so good luck with resisting the urge to download a sneak preview ;)
wouldn’t say it was hate mail but i get what you are sayin.
ain’t really a fan of videos either, its just an ad at the end of the day. hate the use of women in videos, gettin in some bird with a great rack to get the attention of the lads, shite.
Think i’ll manage to avoid downloading a copy, wouldn’t even know where to start! Got exams starting next week so one thing at a time. It’s gonna be tough to get this vinyl copy, 2000 copies ain’t enough. Would have prefered a standard LP, got semi-d 7” edition and i’v never even played it. Least Century Media look like they are putting in a bit of effort.

I’ll be keeping the vinyl in mint condition (not that I can play it anyway as I ain’t got a turntable at the moment) and playing the CD of the album you get with it. Probably end up getting the limited CD as well as the packaging sounds quite good and I’m a sucker for that kind of thing.

haha funny that you mention that. was out at my folks place at the weekend were my PL and T? records are kept. was just looking at the Icon LP and i took out the poster that came with it and open it out and then put it back into the sleve. its the gate fold one so when i closed it i found that the poster had slid down too far and it was creased at the end when i closed it by the spine of the sleve. i was annoyed but found it slightly amusing as i haden’t looked at it in years, i took it out to check out what great nic it was in and i just ended up damaging the fucker. least it was only the poster i suppose. typical eh? :)

Iron it - I ironed a creased Carcass LP lyric sheet recently :D
I just got the Lost Paradise vinyl picture disc - which is cool as the second side has a press shot I’ve never seen before.

don’t think its the kind of paper that could take the heat, think i’ll leave it as a reminder not to be touchin my PL vinyl :D. Ironed a concert ticket a few yars ago and it went black! lesson learned.
Ya that PL LP of LP :D is tasty. Internal Torment II is my fav track of it. Check out whats written on the run off groves of the lp, prob something like ‘is isk Holmes the new massiah’ or something.

I really loved Draconian Times when it came out and actually went around frowning for a month or 2 because I wanted that sort of miserable Yorkshire bastard image that Kerrang were spinning them back then.
That said, I’ve probably listened to it 2 or 3 times since it left constant rotation on my CD player and I wasn’t all that impressed - it sounds a lot like it was trying to fit in to what was popular then - I even remember one of the tacky magazines asking the rhetorical question of whether this was PL’s Troublegum.
I still think it’s a pretty decent album though, with some good tunes on it, I jus think that perhaps PL are not for me.

I’m still puzzled why they released The Enemy as a single - it’s one of the weakest tracks and the female operatic vocal is cheesy as fuck.
They should have released the track Requiem, it’s ace - PL’s best tune since Say Just Words.

They seem to have set themselves the rule to always release the weakest song off any album since one second as a single.

Only listened to the EBTG cover once and it alright, need to give it a few more spins

Listened to it a few more times and its getting better with every listen, probably better than PLX. The last track (track 11) is great, really like Holmes melody lines on it, its one of thoes tear in the eye songs.

I must have listened to the album one hundret times now since it leaked a month ago. I’m really impressed by it, as it seems to combine most of the stuff they’ve done before in their carreer to one new and fresh whole. ‘in requiem’ is a definate candidate for my album of the year, knocking dark tranquillity’s ‘fiction’ off the throne. once again: Hats off to the pl guys, I’m impressed.

It looks the business! I really nice collectors piece.
Just listening to the CD while I’m working now. Only half way through and already I can’t wait till it repeats.
Greg is really after stepping up with all his guitar solos and melodies. Really good to hear them so prominant again.
I really enjoyed the last few PL albums after the disaster that was HOST. But this one definitely blows them all out of the water. And I’m only half way through…
Great stuff!

Ya I have listened to it a good few times now and it is getting better and better with each one. Its great to hear Greg’s leads again, i’m not all about the leads of anything but I have always loved the way he plays. Isn’t it a bit fucked up that we never see him in any of the guitar mags?
Terrorizer reviewed it and it got 6.5 which i thought was quite shit. They did give a good review of the KOKO gig sadly no article.
Listened to Host for the first time in years a few weeks ago. Never got into it due to the use of samples(sample cd’s). Put it on and went for a walk and i must say i really enjoyed it.

regarding host: it’s one of my favourite albums of all times. sure, pl committed commercial suicide with this one, as it turned all the tough-guy-cookie-monsters away.
it’s not metal and you can’t always figure if it’s guitars or electronics playing. BUT it is a collection of very good and melancholic songs. at least to me,which counts the most ;)
