QOTSA Era Vulgaris

#

Started by Divers (Simon)

They have a new album out in June which I’m very excited about, and they have on their own forum posted up a new song and have told people to upload it and post it everywhere. So I thought people might like to check it out, they say it wont be on the album, it’s meant to be called Era Vulgaris but the mp3 says otherwise.

It’s not too bad trent from nin is singing, the clips of other songs I have heard are really good so I have high hopes for the album.:)

It wouldn’t have seemed so in the end.. by the looks of it the line up for recording was pretty much the same as the last album.

I’m quite enjoying the song, it does seem quite a safe track to put out first for people to hear, I just hope that the rest of the album is a bit more adventurous but with the power of the first three albums. I am pleased it’s only going to be an 11 track album, so it wont be over long and hopefully they have chosen the best tracks so it will be storming:)

They are streaming a new song called 3’s & 7’s on their website as we speak and I think it’s really good, better than the Free MP3 they were giving away.

aint heard the one on their website yet, but the song you linked isnt that bad, i hope theyre gonna do material that was like ‘songs for the deaf’ which was awesome. but ‘lullabies to paralyze’ is poor in comparison but pretty good though.

I think the new album is going to have more in comment with the first album from what I can tell… which I’m all for as It’s my favourite one, with Rated R close behind.

LTP was an okay album it was just a bit flat at times and if three of later songs would have been cut then it would have been a much better album… i really liked the production on it though.

After hearing a three track promo of the album, it doesn’t really sound like any of the other albums.. in the same way that the other four don’t sound like eachother. It’s alot rawer and live sounding… two of the tracks are fast and exciting with some really big riffs and the other is taking their weird and psychedelic side to more prog territory. Can’t wait:D

Few tracks I’ve heard are promising a pretty good QOTSA album. Era Vulgaris, can’t wait to get that. Gonna buy it and listen to it ‘til my ears bleed and fall. Just kidding..

I’ve got a promo of the whole album now and I really think it’s good.. no big chart songs like No One Knows more dirty sounding jams it does sound very different from their other efforts. Takes a good few listens to really kick in.

You can get some of the tracks form here to listen to http://www.eravulgaris.co.uk and the answer is TURNING ON THE SCREW they let you download four ones to hear.

i like therapy, been a fan since 92/93, and i only like qotsa since 2000 but man…era vulgaris blows everything therapy? did since suicide pact, you may say that they completely different bands, and it’s true but man they’re both rock and roll, and qotsa is rockin’ the FUCK out
oh yeah and OCFA seems tamer and duller with each listen

i like both bands T? and QOTSA looking forward to the new QOTSA in early june. Love Sick,Sick,Sick. That riff coming out of the chorus slays.

I’ve heard the whole record and I’m really going to get it ‘cos it’s way MUCH better than Lullabies. Sick,Sick,Sick & Turning The Screw my fave songs.

Glad they made a raw stoner rock album.
