Seems to be making a comeback this year - ace albums from Deerhunter, A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Ulrich Schnauss, Maps, so I thought it was time to discuss this lovely (although dead and buried) genre.

Shoegaze ‘classics’?
I’ll start:

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Spiritualized - Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space
The Verve - A Storm In Heaven
Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See
Slowdive - Souvlaki

Shoegaze? are you sure? Absolutely class album yeah, but not even remotely shoegaze sir.

I think THE great shoegaze band was Ride. But then it wasn’t the biggest of scenes was it? Not much to pick from really.

I have ‘Going Blank Again’ by Ride which is ace, but again, it doesn’t really stick to one genre. Still, ‘Leave Them All Behind’ is definitely t’gaze and it’s definitely great.
