ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGHH!
A bloody one-off in Toronto?! Next week no less!?!?

And here I am in Vancouver, dying to see T? Only 4492km away.

Fookin’ell! Will I ever get to see them?

Title: WTF Indeed

The only stranger fact that T? are playing in Toronto is the fact that I find out only the day before… now if only I can make it there in time.

All you lucky fuckers who got to see the Toronto gig… I want reviews, pictures, video, etc. C’mon, let’s have ‘em!

Hope it was a good one, and seriously wish I could’ve been there!

Therapy?, you better come back soon - hope there’s something in the works! And this time don’t forget about us on the west coast!

I can’t believe no one has weighed in on this yet!

Holy fucking christ was I ever ecstatic to hear that Therapy? were playing Toronto. I couldn’t get over how random it felt. It also happened within a week of me moving back after living in Ottawa for 6 years.

I apologise, my camera sucks in concert lighting, so most of my pictures didn’t turn out at all. Here’s a few alright ones…

My brother wants to apologise to Andy if he feels it’s tacky to do this sort of thing…

Also thanks to the nice bass tech who grabbed this for us from Neil’s kit.

There were a bunch of people there with professional cameras and the like. I hope more pictures of the event surface online.

The only disappointment of the night was that they had to stick to a 40 minute set list due to the nature of the festival. They were charming and sounding at the top of their form. Now if only I can afford a trip to the UK to see Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, and the Stone Roses announce a surprise reunion, I can complete seeing the holy trinity of my all-time favourite bands… I was born a decade too late, ha.

Shuff, are you the guy my brother and I were chatting with after the show, waiting to see if the band would come out? Glad you made it :)

Nice one, greycell. Is that you pictured with Andy?

Shame about the short set, and only 2 songs since 1994!!
That’s shocking!

No, that’s my younger brother … I don’t understand what happened to the picture links? Is posting that many pictures frowned upon here? As well, there was a little note there from my brother apologising to Andy if he thinks having pictures taken like that is tacky…

It makes sense that they wouldn’t play much new stuff here … they haven’t been here for like 11 years or so and would want to play stuff the crowd knows them for. A “greatest hits” set was kind of appropriate for the audience and amount of time they had to play.

I think a few albums haven’t even been released here. One Cure Fits All definitely hasn’t been released here (as Andy noted during the intro to Rain Hits Concrete), and I’ve found a couple albums only as imports.

I changed the images into links, as it slows down the boards having many images about the place. Sorry about your comment about your brother, I can only assume I accidentally deleted that at the same time :o

Sorry! I’ll remember that for the next T? show in Toronto! :D

Since I’m not allowed to edit it myself, can you fix the second last link in the post? You accidentally combined two of them somehow so they don’t work at all, and the comment about my brother is in there too, heh.

Very cool - looks like I missed one HELL of a good show, you lucky bastards!

Don’t suppose anyone in the T? camp mentioned the likelihood of a return to Canada anytime soon?

Oh well, maybe I’ll get to see them next time, say, 2018?

I didn’t make the show after all… and I’m really upset over it. I’m also surprised that they played mostly songs from their early years. Hopefully this exposure will get them back to Canada sometime soon.

How many people were at the show? Was it tough to get into. That’s actually one reason why I didn’t make the trip from Ottawa to Toronto. With the NXNE festival, usually only a handful of people get into the clubs without the full festival pass. And with the El Mo being one of the most popular clubs, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get in.

setlist was roughly this (though i might have missed a song or messed up the order a bit):

rust
innocent x
turn
knives
potato junkie
rain hits concrete
teethgrinder
isolation
nowhere
screamager

club was busy, say 100+ people, but not full… about 3/4 full i’d guess… no problem getting in without a pass… overall they sounded killer, though i was quite disappointed with the setlist… i’ve heard all these songs live but two before… i guess i can understand why they choose them, but there were many people there yelling new songs… i heard ‘polar bear’ and ‘die like a motherfucker’ yelled quite a bit, for instance…

hopefully they are coming back… the late announcement meant I couldn’t make it due to work commitments. I’m a 14 year T? veteran with my first show back in 1993 but havn’t seen ‘em since London in 2004. Living in Springfield, MA so anywhere in the North-East of the US or canada is good for me! Would defo be up for ride-sharing with other T? fans in the area because I’m certainly on my own here!!

i think i can safely say the guys had a great time playing the show as well as just being in toronto for the festival. i bumped into the guys in a bar by chance on the thursday and ended up hanging out with them for the 3 nights.
we all had a blast drinking the city dry and dispite minor problems during the set they had nothing but good things to say about the show.
i even got emails from the guys & their manager when i got home about how much they enjoyed it.
i hoped that would have been encouragement for them to play this side of the pond again but there wernt any mentions of a possible return unfortunately!
