Illegal software is usually termed (soft)warez - google it and see. This gives a quick search when your looking for cracked software.

Colin, if you use a Microsft product key from another machine, when your PC updates it will upload your key and hardware profile - your PC then becomes virtually useless untill you provide an alternative key - MS are getting very clued up to piracy, just be warned no windows updates if you are lucky enough to find a key

The matter is I wont reinstall it. I got already a legit Key. But I found out that I get a free and legit XP-Key from my university. So I maybe can deal my old Key. I definitley cant deal the key from university !!

I hoped that someone got experiance with this and could give me a good advise. I read on some boards that there are a couple of tools out their which read out your keys, pretendign to change them and then instead send them away.
