You gotta be joking!?

Anyways, their last few albums have been shite, but rumour has it that it is very good (as heard from people that would normally bash this band).

The whole album can be streamed on their myspace page.

I am interested to see what Korn will come up with now they are heading into middle age. It will either set them up as legends or finish them.

Am I the only person that likes TALITM? Great album! :)

What’s happened David Silveria, did he leave? Sacked?

He won’t be the touring drummer, just recorded the album. Joey from Slipknot currently mans the drums.

Silvera just wasn’t arsed I think - something like that. Apparently his drumming went to shit and he a happy business man. They still consider him a member.

They started their career well enough and I thought everything they did up “Follow the Leader” was the dogs bollocks to be honest - went downhill after that.

Last album was an absolute turd.

They are a great band and I will always credit them for trying to do something new with heavy music.

Will give this a listen.

Yes I am entitled to my own opinion. I dont like them. All their songs are the same with hardly any tune. Some songs off the first album are ok but on the whole they all blend together.

Well Squall,

Their new one sounds nothing like anything they have ever done before - I am not defending this band, just fact.

Am just after listening to this on their myspace and am not really sure to make of it - not in a negative sense.

As mentioned above, it sounds nothing like typical Korn - no usual bass tapping and loud downtuned guitar. Sounds more electronic to be honest. The mood of the album is really mellow which is a nice change from their last poppy effort - totally anti-commercial.

Lyrically it is better than per usual - no more Jonathon Davis moaning about his childhood.

Hm, this could be a grower - no idea. They have deffo earned some of my respect back, but not sure I can get into it.

I was expecting a turd, but interesting I must admit…

I don’t think he is even on the album anymore… Joey from Slipknot took over and re did all or most of the drums.

I haven’t heard anything by them since… life is peachy.. do they still sound like everything is recorded at the bottom of a swimming pool?

lol - that Ross Robinson sound is overrated! Have you ever tried recording an album where the guitars are tuned down to ‘A’ or whatever? Its not easy! The sonics are really dull. Someone who does sound production back me up here!

Im glad JD has stoppped rhyming ‘rage’ and ‘pain’ in every single line of his childish lyrics! :D

Yup 100% ! Ross Robinson is a terrible producer..Wait Grant…GIMME a chance !!

Everything sounds weak, there is no clarity in anything, there is loads of spill. Compare the Ross Robinson produced slipknot album “IOWA” to the vastly superior Rick Rubin produced ” Volume 3 “.There is no contest. With Rubin, there is clarity, dynamics, space, good performances, ballads, singing, solos…everything is 100% improved.

Ross Robinson likes to record bands live in the room together until they are completely knackered and then uses the “raw” takes..i.e the ones where everyone is pissed off as fuck and is just hammering their instrument with rage, because apparently thats “soul”…He got Corey Taylor from slipknot to do vocals ALL day until his throat was fucked, and then used the takes with him absolutely worn out…Whereas Rick Rubin gets them to rehearse the songs until they know them inside out and back to front and THEN records them, so there is no room for error and it’s more about capturing a great performance where yuo may do a fill or something on the guitar without worrying about screwing up because you know the song so well.

Sorry for the rant, but I really hate ross robinson !

:D

6/10. Jon said he’s more influenced by The Beatles and The Cure for this record. I personally don’t see or hear anything related to either of those acts.
Its ok, got it in the mp3 player at the mo and some songs are alright but nothing that special. Sounds a little rushed in places and the over feel of the album is like.. it doesn’t know what it wants to be.
Maybe thats why its called ‘untitled’…???
