I wonder about the people who voted for Screamger, Nowhere & Die Laughing - how many of them actually bought the thing?

It’s easy enough for a ‘casual’ fan to visit the site and participate in an on-line poll and vote for the songs they remember liking from Troublegum all those years ago, but when it comes to the parting of cash maybe they would be a bit more reluctant?

Rene, would you happen to have info on that? ie. who bought the album who had any of those songs in their Top 3?

Just curious is all!

Just after the results of the votings had been posted, I also wondered about this. Statistics would be nice, but probably too much work?

Would be interesting to see indeed and it’s something I’ll keep in mind for possible future webgigs. I’m sorry to say I didn’t collect enough information at voting time to create any reliable statistics for this one.

To everyone who hasn’t received their sleeve yet: all sleeves ordered until March 5th have been sent out. The next batch will take a few weeks longer due to the band being on tour. Apologies for the delay.

That answers my question, I ordered the gig on March 6th :( . Gig still rocks like a MOFO. Sent a mail to the band to advise them of just how good I thought the gig and production was and was pleased that Michael replied with a very nice email a day or so later. Good guys them T? fellas.

Folks, we will stop selling the webgig on August 10th, 2007, and there are only a couple of signed covers left (of a limited run of 750). Don’t miss out on this exclusive Therapy? release, and order now.

Cheers for the tip-off about this!

I have been putting it off for financial reasons, but now I have ordered it. I’d hate to have missed out if it had just been removed without warning.

Thanks!

PS, Teethgrinder, would you be able to find out exactly how many downloads there have been - of the whole thing and of audio or video only..?
Purely out of interest - I’m curious as to what kind of response this initial webgig has created.

We’re now out of free signed covers. The full set can still be purchased for £13.99 until August 10th, but new orders no longer include a signed cover.

Dennis/soul doubt, the band consider the webgig to be a success, and a second one certainly hasn’t been ruled out. Nothing’s been decided upon, however, so we’ll just have to wait and see. I won’t give you the exact numbers, but most people bought the full set + signed cover.

And, unless I am mistaken, WoMbles stuck to Michael’s request that we don’t post any of the webgig online for free. I certainly didn’t see any on YouTube or any of those type of sites, so fair play to all the WoMbles out there for showing respect.

Bursting your bubble Dennis, but there was a topic posted reporting a webgig video on YouTube.

Rene had it removed swiftly though :)

hmmmm not sure about this. finally got round to buying it last week and I have listened to it about 3 times and i have only watched a few of the videos. I haven’t made up my mind on it fully but at the moment I’m not too impressed with it. First off the songs that were selected, who here actually voted for the usual suspects? you should be taken out and beaten with a rubber willy or something. Talk about missing the opportunity to pull some songs out of the vault. I’m sure this has been talked about already so I’ll leave it there.

The recordings, sound wise are quite good but they lacked the atmosphere and drive that comes with a proper Therapy? gig. This was called a webgig but i got a zero gig feel from this. Another disappointment for me was the fact that Andy did not seem to be enjoying him self. Maybe he was having a bad day and had something more important was on his mind, either way he was nothing like the man that i have seen live many many time. That said, I have not watched all the vids but I doubt he flashes much of a grin on any of them. I was also disappointed with the vocals on many of the tracks, Moment of Clarity and Straightlife especially. They were a tad whiny and his voice lacked strength.

Straightlife didn’t come out well and sounded wrong from the start. I know its lacking a extra guitar and all but it seemed a bit tired which was strange as they rarely play it, to me it sounded slower than the studio version which is strange for a live recording.

I don’t like slagging off the lads as they are one of my favourite bands and they are lovely people but I was not blown away by this webgig at all. I will listen to and watch it a few more times and report back and hopefully it will be more positive.

I’m not speaking for andy or anything, but i remember hearing a few times that he doesnt like being on camera so bear that in mind king hill. and playing to just a camera instead of hundreds of people would in my opinion probably be more scary and intimidating.

If thats the reason then he shouldn’t be making vids then. I don’t want to watch Andy doing things that he does not want to do.

Folks,
A few people have (rightly) been getting worried about the delay/absence of their webgig sleeves. Before you start attacking postal workers, let me explain cos’ its actually our fault! What happened was that when the initial batch of sleeves ran out we had to decide on how ‘limited’ we wanted the release to be. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing we decided on a number and made plans to get the remainder printed up.

The guy Neil was dealing with at the printers was apparently “on holiday” so we decided to wait until he was back. After a time had passed and a few calls had been made it became clear the dude was on ‘permanent holiday’. The original artwork was nowhere to be seen either so we then had to get our designer (Curt Evans) to redo it for us. He’s a busy man so that took a wee bit of time as well….

Ok, so the upshot is that the sleeves will be done soon. Neil, Andy and myself will be signing and personalising(and numbering!) them by hand as we did before, then they’ll be in the mail asap! Rest assured all orders will be honoured.

Thanks for your patience peeps,

Mikehellx
