Diamond Head on Tour!!

#

Started by Kill_Hill (Brendan)

Went to see Diamond Head on tour on sunday night. For some reason they were booked to play King Johns Castle in Limerick. It made no sence that they would be booked to play there as they could never fill it but fair fucks to all involved cause they but on a great show. Never heard them before hand, only the Metallica covers, but i highly recommend going along to check them out if they are in your town. You’ll be rocked and have a laugh all at the same time.

I remember Metallica requested their appearance as special guests on some metal bill at Milton Keynes with them, Megadeth and The Almighty…and they didn’t go down too well as no-one knew them even then (this was fucking ages ago, in 1993 or something).

Yeah I remember sitting by a stereo with my finger on the record button ready to tape Metallica’s set.

I htink Diamond Head were hoping that was gonna be their big chance, what with a huge endorsement from Metallica, but no-one paid them much attention at all.

Shame, though, if they’re good like Kill Hill reports.

From Wikipedia:

“Their performance was very underpar, which was due to the pressure of playing live on MTV, the fact Tatler was suffering from shingles at the time and Diamond Head had had very little rehearsal time prior to the gig.”

1993 I was there and yes they were shit house… in the end they asked the crowd if they wanted them to just play “Am I Evil” over and over for the rest of the set. I don’t think the singer coming on dressed as the grim reaper really helped.
