Not only is Troublegum the best artwork there. It’s also arguably the best ALBUM on that list.

He’s not naked, he’s clearly wearing a body suit, and I don’t think he’s supposed to be throwing up. I see it more as he’s hiding his head, or senses (particularly hearing), away from the world and its ‘status quo’, and into the bin which could represent something out of the ordinary, something alternative and underground, which happens to be Troublegum.

Anyway, it’s open to different interpretations, which was surely the whole idea, and this makes it great artwork. The Guardian is clueless.

The Guardian just has no eye for real art.

There`s a difference between genuine art-forms like the Troublegum sleeve causing uncontrolled vitriol to burst forth from your main cranial orifice, and pre-meditated filth just for the sake of it.

It’s a band with nothing to say trying to look like they have something to say.

I hate hard-fi, the only saving grace is they came first I suppose.

I’ve just noticed that the covers were nominated - who the fuck nominated them? These people have way to much time on their hands

I genuinely dont think its a bad album cover at all. Surely the best album covers are ones that stand out from the rest, which troublegum did.

In my opinion, not one album cover since by T? has come anywhere close

if we’re talking about specifically T? album covers, most have been awful. troublegum is actually probably one of the best. shameless is horrible, HA is even worse, and OCFA is the worst album cover that the happy mondays never put out.

in terms of cover art the only redeeming ones are troublegum, semi detached and infernal love. you know what you’re getting with those.

oh and nurse and the pre-nurse covers were arse aswell.

i loved the NANE cover though. say’s it all really.

Can’t disagree with the above. Found most of T?’s artwork fucking horrible.

High Anxiety I thought particularly shite. If I was a casual observer I’d probably think those blokes were the band…or was that their intention?

There was a single released from the semi detached era, with Therapy? (I think) written on the box of a take away.
I think it was lonely cryin only, and I love that cover!
I like some of T?’s artwork, although I don’t like Infernal Love’s cover.
Suicide pact has a cool cover, as does NANE, and as much as some may hate it, I like OCFA’s cover! :)

Absolutely…Shortsharpshock EP was great too!

Taste in art is so subjective but I’m just unable to picture the band being presented with some of the album artwork (the HA or OCFA cover for example) and triumphantly shouting, “Yes! That exactly represents what we’re about!”

Would be great to hear some “stories behind the artwork” from Andy!

That cover photo is amazing in my book. Say what you like but Corjibin takes great photos, he has his own style which is instantly reconisable. Tacky fake foustaches are better that a guy with some pound shop maskes on his head any day of the week.

The covers for the ShortSharpShock ep were great. Nowhere and Trigger Inside were both great covers, some from the IL era were truly bad and Semi Detached was just weird. They did make up for it with Sucide Pact though.

i always thought T? were an awful artwork band. Although i did like the infernal love sleeve. But then its the music thats important. A lot of bands have fucking horrible artwork, but the music more than makes up for it. Except for Hard Fi. I thought the sleeve to their first album was bad enough, but has anyone seen the new one? jesus fucking h christ.
