Anyone else been gipped over the signed webgig cover?

Guys, I made a payment to buy the Therapy? webgig on the 12th of March this year. Been waiting for five months to receive my signed cover. Nothing. Gave my address at checkout and paid on paypal, did everything they told me to do. Still have my receipt too.

Went to check the website today and saw this :-

“We will stop selling the webgig on August 10th, 2007. Don’t miss out on this exclusive Therapy? release—order now.* Please note: the limited run of 750 signed covers is sold out. The full set (audio + video) no longer includes a signed cover for new orders.”

It’s the last part that pisses me off. Okay, when I ordered the gig and provided my address on paypal, five freeking months ago, it didn’t say anything about a limited run of 750 covers at all!

I feel gipped and massively ripped off. This is new information that wasn’t on the site when I ordered the gig. I can’t believe that after waiting five months, I’m now seriously being told that I’m not going to receive the cover that I paid for, when it was blatantly in stock. What gives?

Just want to know if anybody else has been shafted by this, by A) Placing an order months ago and receiving nothing and B) Not being told it was a limited run and once the first 750 had gone, you wouldn’t receive anything. It blatantly didn’t say that anywhere on the site when I ordered. Honestly, truthfully and sincerely.

What a crock!

Did you actually contact the site to check whether your cover had been sent? Because I doubt very much that anyone associated with this site has deliberately tried to “gip”, “rip off”, or indeed, “shaft” you.

If I remember correctly something went wrong with the first batch of orders for the WebGig.

First the downloads would not start (correctly) in the beginning.
Also word got out that a batch of the signed covers could not be processed.

But in both cases mailing someone of this site got it fixed.

Also 750 signed covers, the guys of T? probably had sore hands after that..

voodoo_doll, it would have been nice if you had waited a little longer than four minutes for me to reply to your e-mail, before posting here about something that is a misunderstanding.

For anyone who is waiting for their signed cover and is worried about what voodoo_doll said, this is what I wrote in my reply to him an hour ago, before seeing this thread:

“I apologise for not being more clear in my note on the site. You will certainly be sent a signed cover if you ordered the gig on March 12th. We’ve only recently decided on the number of covers the would be made, but we announced this before we actually reached the number (which we did on August 1st). It would have been very unfair to do this after the fact, as you said.

I’ve changed the note on the site to be more clear (I hope), and assure you that you will be sent the signed cover you’re entitled to. I realise you have been waiting for far too long, and I sincerely apologise for the delay.”

Rene, can I mention that within a short period of time of ordering the webgig (on day of release) that I had moved house, therefore my address is different and pretty sure that now I won’t recieve my signed goodies :(
Is there anyway round this?

Your cover has been sent out around January 25th. Did you already move house by then? If you haven’t received it by now, there’s not much I can do. Sorry, dude.

Or at the very least they may let you have a look at their framed signed copy of the webgig they keep pride of place above the mantelpiece.

Any chance of receiving a non-signed cover then?
I’m rather disappointed in this limited number…

I hope some kind of compromis will be made for those of us who have bought the webgig after August 1st.

If you buy it before August 10th then it will certainly have a cover, but not a signed one. Though you could always take it with you to a gig and chance your luck :)

I seem to be causing quite a bit of confusion with the note on the webgig page, sorry about that. I have updated it again in an attempt to make everything clear.

There will only be 750 covers made, all signed.

There won’t be any non-signed covers.

The 750th full set was bought on August 1st, so all orders for a full set (audio + video) placed on or before August 1st will include a signed cover.

All orders placed after August 1st will NOT include a cover, signed or otherwise.

my webgig cd cover only had andy and neil’s signatures on it…:( As they know Im a bit of a geek when it comes to signed stuff, I remember a manchester gig on the shameless tour I brought a backpack full of stuff and they happily obliged to sign it all.I was well chuffed especially as Id been to see them at the newcastle gig 2 nights before, with another lot of my collection and they’d signed that too.I’v stopped asking now, it feels a bit weird. If you’ve seen The Life Aquatic, thers a bit in there that reminded me of it, when the old fella asks steve zissou to sign a pile of stuff…

I did the download and got everything okay but my webgig cover hasn’t turned up either.
It was so long ago I ordered it I can’t remember when it was; well over the ‘allow time for’ limit though.

I haven’t changed address either !!!

I don’t blame the band for this though, I kind of had the expectation that it wouldn’t turn up when I filled in the details - seems to be the world we live in :-)

Music and Videos have been listened to and viewed a lot though, so don’t consider a rip off. It’s only a bit of paper. They signed my OCFA and poster in person last year in Manchester which was much cooler anyway !
