Ah that good old “blow job emotion”.

What is it though as an emotion? Is it like wanting or more like missing I wonder? Maybe it something else completely!

d - I have a picture of the unpacked bed, but haven’t put it on yet - shall do later.

I think on a whole it’s definitely an upgrade.. though I confess I miss the colour scheme of the old one. There’s a bit more to customize, and I like that the defaults favor not morphing regular smilies into icons. The profiles have a lot more power in them, I like how you can search the members for interests, such as bands you’re into.

Rene, any ideas why i’m having problems staying logged into wom… every time i come back to the site i have to do it, so the two weeks thing isn’t working… it can’t be my preferences as other sites still work fine? I did have a problem a few hours ago where the site wasn’t reconising my user name or password and then later was fine.

Seemed a bit strange.

Thanks for everyone’s comments, both positive and negative.

I’ll be looking into the issue regarding (not) staying signed in, as it seems to be a problem in the boards indeed, and not caused by browser settings.

Viirkokka, I wrote all client- and server-side code myself, with the exception of two existing JavaScript libraries (Prototype and script.aculo.us).

haven’t been on the net much so haven’t had a chance to get used to it. Finding in quite severe on the eyes, far too much white. Found it easier to read posts on the old board, not much seperation between posts on this one. Im a fan of this kinda lay out http://www.paradiselost.co.uk/forums/index.php . Easy on the eyes and not as confusing.

Not a fan of posts from all topics being on one page. Nice one on havin little pics but they are rather small, I’d prefer Avatar size. Not bitchin, just tryin to help.

Anyways, no point telling Rene what your preferred layout of a messageboard is, he isn’t going to change it.

There you go speaking for other people again, Colin. Just because I’m not bringing back the old boards, doesn’t mean I’m not listening to feedback on the new ones.

Kill_Hill, thanks for your comments. I prefer black text on a white background instead of the colour scheme on the Paradise Lost forums, but that’s down to personal preference. I mean no disrespect, but those big pictures in the signatures and the bright profile buttons are really distracting and make the threads much less easy to read for me.

There’s no standard avatar size, everyone uses a different one. I decided to go with 48x48 pixels, one of the often used sizes, and the one I liked most.

I obviously don’t want these boards to be confusing, so could you give me some specific examples of things you couldn’t find, didn’t know how to use, or didn’t behave as expected?

When i first checked out the board I thought you had got rid of the dofferent sections (Therapy Live, Chit Chat etc) but I eventually found how to look at these. Maybe ‘all catogeries’ link could be better highlighted or called ‘all boards’ or something. Thought that all the latest topics that had been replied to being on the one page was a bit weird at first but i now see it a very good idea.

For me I find that when you go into a topic that all the replies run together a bit, a stronger dividing line between them would help and/or more space. Plus I can’t seem to see the quote button to reply to what some one said.

The avatar/photos are just a bit small for me, its very hard to make out some of the photos. Yours is grand to make out Rene but some ain’t so clear.

I’m just flicking between this board and the PL one and the difference on my eyes is massive. Maybe I have pussy retinas or something but my eyes are getting sore from the get go even with the brightness turned way down. Its just far too bright and I won’t be able to pop in for as long as I’d like to because of it, not a bad thing some of you might say.

I am all for a change in lay out just incase you think I want to go back to the old board. Well done on all your hard work.

Rene; is there any chance the colour scheme can be changed?
I’m getting used to the new boards and I’m quite enjoying them and I don;t min d the discussions being all together blah blah i;m drifting now.

Anyway do you think we can change the colour scheeme a bit? Like so it’s slightly grayer or a lighter.. white. Duynno if i made that clear :P

Just the other boards (though I prefer these) were more broken up with those nice greens and grays :)
