In the Netherlands they have gone up tremendously,I wanted tot go and buy tickest for both Audioslave and Sisters of Mercy last saturday, but these concerts were 33 euro each…that’s a lot of money in my opinion!

It sucks, doesn’t it? And how about the service fees? It’s really ridiculous that you have have to pay extra service costs if the ticket price exceeds a certain amount. What extra service do they offer for a ticket of 30 Euros compared to a 15 Euro ticket?

Mostly I go to punkshows, they’re really cheap, and I hope it won’t change, but rockshows sometimes are quite expensive, indeed. But how about the festivals!? It’s a shame! You can go on vacation and sleep in a hotel for a better price than going to a festival and standing in the rain for a few days, for maybe 3 band you really like to see! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care standing in the rain to see a good band perform, but i guess it’s possilbe to reduce the price!!! People who visit those festivals mostly are poor students…

In Ireland most bands will only play in Dublin so if you live outside it you have to travel to get there (45 euro’s usually) pay for accomodation, and get to and from the show from there. Its a complete pain in the ass. However the Irish Ozzfest last year was only about £50 and there was loads of class bands (Therapy?, System of a Down, Tool, Cyclefly, Slayer) and no hassle whatsoever.
I feel sorry for the fools who go to pop and boyband shows as they get raped for ticket prices - usually 45 - 60 euros before fee’s or anything has been added

can someone give me an equivalent price? I have no idea about euros, tickets are generally £10-£15 for the bigger bands, but not many “big” bands come to newcastle and if they do then they’ll play at the arena (£20+)

1 Euro = 64p

now, it’s a fact: the bigger - both venue and bands playing - the more expensive. i spent 10 quid to see idlewild two years ago and 17 to see them 2 weeks ago. and london is usually more expensive (£2.00/2.50) than anywhere else in the uk. i’ve always wondered why. is it because they think we earn more money? strangely enough, prices have gone up but salaries ain’t…

My last DT concert was €35 + €3.5 service!
BUT…they played for three fuckin hours…so that was worth it.
Only Mojo is the real pain here. I went to see the same artist twice…first time mojo was behind it…the 2nd time not…it saved me about €10…
Even if the Rolling Stones ask €100 per ticket, they’ll sell out…

That’s just a matter of demand and supply I guess, especially from Mojo’s side. They can ask ridiculous prices and still sell every single ticket available. It’s a shame they control most of the ‘market’. I have no idea if artists have any say in setting ticket prices actually, but they should.

My tickets for The Almighty gig in Wolverhampton (which is now cancelled) were £10 each plus a quid booking fee I think (robbery).
I saw Megadeth there last year and they were £10 to £12 I think. Not bad I reckon.

apparently most bands can’t do anything about ticket prices… i know pearl jam didn’t want those people at ticketmaster to sell their tickets because the booking fee was about £ 10. in the end they didn’t come to an agreement and ticketmaster still had their tickets and their goddamned expensive booking fee. and pj are one of those bands that fight for fans and if they want something they usually get it
