I use it! I’ve been using it for 3 years now, back in 2004 it had really bad server problems, etc with it being new, but it’s pretty much perfect now.

My user name is Tubthumper.

Wow, no shock there :)

scrobbling is when it saves the name of the song your listening to. then it builds charts over time, of your most played songs and artists. and recomends you new bands based on what you like. and recomends you people with similar tastes

Sign up for it and download the software .

It then keeps record of what you’ve been listening to on your media player/itunes etc and counts the amount of times you listen to a band/song. Then it will reconmend music you may like based on the bands you have been listening to.

Tis very good , according to mine , Therapy? are my fav favourite band. About right :)

OK… is it accurate in its recommendations though? And does it recommend obscure stuff that I won’t already know?

Umm depends what you listen to really , all my reconmendations are pretty mainstream bands that i’ve already heard of. That I just dont listen to as much. So that bit aint too great.

the recommendations are made by all listeners habits
usually not many people who are listening to justin timberlake would listen to iron maiden
so the recommendations made or the “similar artists” are generally accurate, of course there are always exceptions
it seems Therapy? is my favorite band with 1500 tracks played. well, no suprise!
