Joy Division

Ever full of New Year cheer, I’ve been listening to Closer. I always think that album was a big influence on Infernal Love. Ian Curtis’ vocals even sound quite similar to Andy’s, to these ears…

I prefer Unknown Pleasures, closers a bit TOO intense. Before i saw donnie darko in the theatre, they played Closer beforehand in the pitch darkness. I was stoned off my balls and freakin out. Nasty.

I think Andy used the same mic setup as Ian Curtis on Unbeliever.

Oohh. I love that intensity. Passover and The Eternal are two of the most depressive songs ever written.
I love Unknown Pleasures too…damn, that Bass sound is one in a million. Yumm…okay, I go listen to them now. :-)

Yes. They’re pretty good. I mean…it’s not the best sound-wise, but worthwhile…

As for She’s Lost Control, listen to the 12” version which is wayyyyy better…(on Heart And Soul)

if it’s the same version that is on SUBSTANCE i agree with you, it’s a lot better than the U.P. version.

as for the live albums, i think i’ll buy them sooner or later, i only hope they sound better than the live tracks on STILL.

I’d go for Moby’s New Dawn Fades.

I was having this discussion with my boyfriend the other night. And he has come to the conclusion that I am the only person in the world that gets cheered up by listening to Joy Division.

Which I do.
Is it as unusual as he thinks?
