This Life

Anyone remember this TV programme? I bought the complete series DVD at a car boot sale for a fiver recently and have just started watching it again. I’d forgotten how good it was. Great characters, great storylines and loads of gratuitous sex. Brilliant.

Any thoughts???

A few years ago I bought the first series on DVD off ebay for £50 (yes fifty) quid… it had been discontinued and it was the only way to get hold of it.

6 months later the bastard BBC re-released it on dvd!!

Great series though!

You didn’t miss much then. I thought that they were a bit dull - compared to the series anyway.

If it was released in Japan, the literal translation of the title they would probably give it is

“Solicitors who in the same house live, and some of which shag, whilst others dont. Causing arguments - Series 1”

Would you buy it?

don’t think it was unnecessary, it wasn’t just for the sake of it and if you like man on man action there was plenty of that too.

Exactly my point…It seems the BBC are just putting lots of sex in their dramas nowadays for the sake of it..

Rome was a big offender - it was completely unnecessary and pointless - i actually found it rather hilarious how much they said ” fuck ” and had sex every 5 minutes… :D

The TV Spot may as well have said ” its historical - but DONT WORRY !!! theres plenty of shagging and swearing in it !! Tonight at 10 !! “

As Kill_Hill said - it wasn’t unnecessary, they were covering serious issues like the implications of casual sex etc. It would have been really boring, but fortunately they built all the serious bits into a gripping drama :) Anyway, what’s wrong with sex? Every other drama that’s on at the moment seems to have people getting murdered every 10 seconds - surely that’s worse?

Though I missed chunks of this series, what I saw I loved. For some unhealthy reason, I liked that bitch who was sleeping around and off her face all the time.

Its more that they use it to pull in viewers, maybe because they cant writre a decent story ? I just find it amusing is all :)
