Not knockin Host song wise, just wasn’t found of the sound of the album. WIth OS they seemed to make up their own samples but with host they used samples off cd’s. This got to me slightly as I remember and interview with David Bowie around the time of his Earthling album and he was going on about how they created all their own samples for the record and that was the way it should be done. If Bowie, 50 at the time could do it then PL shound have been able to manage the job.

Also thought the production was a bit tinny. Anyway its still a crackin album, far better than i shall ever do.

I didn’t know they used samples from actual cds. that is in deed a bit strange. I continue listening to host pretending not to know about that ;)

@mr self destruct
it maybe should have been released under the banner of a side project. it’s interesting though, that this didn’t occur to greg until some time after the release of the album and having to take shit from all sides for the album :)

I was just having a swipe at Kill_Hill - read our earlier discussion in this thread about whether or not Host was a “side project” ;)

The “samples” are listed in the album credits…I’m pretty sure they were only very small ones, sounds that Greg couldn’t recreate with the software he was using.

ya maybe the samples were a small part on the album, might ask them that on their questions to the band thing some day.

I’m tellin ya, Host started as a side project ;). Fight after school, me V’s you, till somebody cries.

Personally, I think they should give it a rest with the silly cover songs… its not big and its not clever.

ya the reports have been pretty bad alright, did you check out one of the reports taken from the Type O Board and pasted on WW? here it is below, the guy was fairly angry to say the least. At least it makes PL look better ;)

Yeah. Just got back from the Birmingham show. Fuck you, you useless junkie scum.

You came on over an hour late, you played (I say played, you fucked about) for 40 minutes, then fucked off. It wasn’t even funny. You were booed ON to the stage, and you were booed OFF it. This is a joke to you? Charging £20 for honest fans to watch your theatre of shit? Fuck you.

This was the worst show I have ever seen. I am so pissed off. I have been looking forward to this for months. I am so disappointed. The entire crowd was against you. I can’t blame them. You fucked about, you were laughing at us, even filming us and sticking the middle finger up at us. Your fans. I was expecting some kind of ‘hilarious’ Type O joke, but not this. This was not a show. This was a fucking farce.

Fuck you, Type O. You’ve ruined yourselves for me. I can’t listen to you cunts again without thinking about this show, so thanks a fucking bunch for that.

I’d hope that some other ‘fans’ at the show will post here, because I have NEVER seen a crowd so pissed off before. To get a whole crowd chanting ‘YOU FUCKING SUCK! YOU FUCKING SUCK!’ takes some doing. Well done. Wankers. It was ridiculous. You took the piss. Fuck you.

At the end of the show I went back to the merch stall and asked for a refund on my shirt. The American guy I spoke to had some sort of badge of saying he was promotions manager or something? Can’t remember. Anyway, he told me he was really sorry, and the performance was horrible. He said he felt sorry for the fans. I want a refund on my fucking ticket. I work hard. £20 isn’t loads, but it’s enough to miss if I waste it. I wasted it tonight. I want my fucking money back. I want to know who I can claim it from.

Fuck you, Type O. Seriously. Fuck you. Cunts.

Cheers. Yeah, I’ve been to Cologne a few times, I live about an hour away from there at the moment. I doubt I’ll be doing anything more than standing at the back watching as I’m off with the missus and she’s not into metal. I’ll be shouting along like a goodun though.

I don’t reckon the old leather waistcoat would impress anyone round here…I reckon there’ll be German moshers with full leather suits on at the gig

The setlist looks quite good, though one or two songs from Icon wouldn’t hurt.
