I didn’t know about that. It’s called “III - Over The Under”.

First single “On March The Saints” sounds promising (you can listen to it on youtube)

It is out this month mate - 25th September, I believe.

I, like one or two other naughty people on here, have heard the album - check out the “What’s Everyone Listening To..?” thread and you’ll find people talking about it.

Down are a great band,

Saw them live in Dublin last year and they kicked ass. Good ol’ southern sludge rock at it’s finest.

Phil really sings his ass off for those guys and I bet that this album is going to be fantastic.

I’ve only heard NOLA, but since Pantera are no more and I’ve not bought a metal album in a while, I might get this.

Me too , i’ve listened to it about 20 times already and it gets better with every listen. Not sure if i’d rather it to the other two yet but in a few months time maybe. There all classics to be fair.

One of the best bands on the planet at the moment.

I’ve only listened to it a couple of times. I do have to say that I find Down a bit dull at times…they have some really good tracks but a lot of average ones. So far the album only grabs me at track 5.

I’m a big fan of Down… it’s influenced the way i play guitar and the riffs are what i strive for with Pirrama. I’ve enjoyed all the albums, and to be honest i think vocally it’s the best thing Phil has done… shows that he can actually still sing and what a great voice he has. Also i’ve seen them three times and all of them have been amazing gigs.

I still don’t think they have bettered the first album, but all the albums I have enjoyed alot.

Yeah totally agree with Phils voice being at its best , he’s singing more than screaming (although he still aint lost that) which is great. IMO he is the best metal frontman past and present. Period.

They’ve released 3 albums since 1995 , but its quality over quantity and its all quality. Nola still my favourite , Lifer , Eyes Of The South , Rehab , Bury Me In Smoke etc all timeless classics. Can’t choose between II and III though.

I listened to the HellYeah album once or twice and quite enjoyed it , dunno why I havent listened to it more, the singer has got a decent voice, even with Mudvayne it was pretty good , I remember back when Dig was first on mtv2 and thinking fucking hell.

Hey guys,

have been checking this for a few days now and I think it is great. On march the saints (if that is the name of the song) is class and also dig Pillamyd.

Will admit that it took a few spins, but talk about a worthy comeback.

What do you guys make of it?
