The last gig I went to was Alabama 3 a couple of weeks back. They were f**king brilliant! I have only seen them live once before - 11 or 12 years ago when there were only a few of them and they looked like ZZ Top. They have certainly upped their game - i love the music anyway, but talk about putting on a show!! Awesome … :D

Saw Mitch Benn & The Distractions tonight, very funny (though also very scripted :-/). I especially enjoyed Never Went Through A Smiths Phase, a song about us poor bastards who get ostracised for not thinking hewhoshallnotbenamed is a musical genius.

He’s the guy that does the funny songs on The Now Show (that thing wot Punt and Dennis do on the radio).

Also forgot to say that I saw lovely WoMble Monkfish at the show, and she apologises for being a lameass who doesn’t talk to us anymore but she got promoted at work and is no longer afforded opportunities to skive on t’internet :’(

I forgot to mention I went to see the wildhearts all the way in Swidon

Maximo Park last night.

Singer Paul Smith was sick as a dog with food poisoning, even threw up behind the bass amp during the last song, but still gave 110% and sang perfectly - and even came back on for encores after he has thrown up, so fair play to that man!

Heheh, me and Ruthie have been mostly listening to Eminem/Macbeth and The Very Hungry Caterpillar: A Rock Opera - it’s our new ceremony to play them to all house visitors. Don’t think them Jehovah’s Witnesses will be back in a hurry, heheheh ;)

The very hungry Caterpillar is a great work of Opera doncha know?? It was always Mitch’s ambition to write one a la Jeff Wayne, only he had to adapt a slightly shorter book that WOTW, so he went for that eminent tome as aforementioned..

Yes, i played ‘James Blunt’ down the blower to me mam as she loves him (i may just have to disown her) to try and re-educate her..she just got upset at the word tw*t is all so i failed miserably *damn* >:-<

My current favourite is ‘Please don’t tell anybody, that we’re the real Duran Duran’… which is a paean to Simon le Bon/John Taylor’s spare time hobby of dressing up in their old New Romantic threads and going down the 80’s disco nights and entering look-alike competitions..apparently it’s true?!? he he :-D

I did buy the album - am listening to it as we speak…but Hamlet isn’t on the bootleg tour one, its on an earlier one that i didnt buy. He should have given me a free one anyway i was the bugger that had to carry all the CD’s down from the merch store upstairs >:-<, i nearly dropeed them all down them stairs…apparently there are only 1,000 of those bootleg tour ones been pressed…and you have one too don’t you?

@Ruth, d’oh… I see your point. Yeah, I bought the new one. I liked what he said about the unsigned ones being rarer… bit like My Voodoo Doll!
