whatta a night it was, thank god the hangover is over now:)
The other finnish punkbands among Maho Neitsyt were:
Tumppi & Problems
Karanteeni
Kadotetut
Kohu-63 : Pogue, they played a hellofa gig!
Riistetyt

Kaaos with the 1st lineup tried to play one song but it was total chaos.
Had a long chat with HIM:s drummer Gas Lipstick who is also a big fan of finnish punk & HC stuff.
Anyway, a night to remember:)

Went to see Tyla from The Dogs D’Amour friday night in pontypridd. Enjoyed it very much although he only played about 10 songs and less than an hour. I was a bit gutted about that tbh. The fact that I had travelled + paid to see him bought 3 CDS and a DVD , and in return only half a gig. On the plus side I chatted to him , had a cover signed and got a photo so can’t complain too much.

Was also nice to see and have a chat with Grant there. :)

yeah good seeing you there and having a chat dusty,

I wasnt actually planning on going I diddnt even know he was playing there, I was on my way down town at 6:30 and I get a phone call saying do you wanna come see tyla. about 2 hours later im in Pontypridd

thing was he wrote down a 26 song set list, tbh I thinkhe was a bit dissapointed at the size of the crowd cus alot of people seem to of left during his set (or if not that alot of people moved backwards a bit) as far as I could see. probably cus of the very late start of the show doors were : 7:30 but due to tyla getting stuck in traffic they musnt of opened till about half 9 at the earliest.

seen him 3 times now, hes been a really top guy all 3 of those times, he ordered some pizzas on friday after i stated that I was hungry, and he sorted me out with some beers. cant wait to see him again, maybe even before the end of the year but if not definatly in the new year

The Wedding Present at Mancunia Academy on Friday night.

They were in excellent form even though the venue was in the process of being reconstructed. It was a very nostalgic crowd as they played the whole of the ‘George Best’ album on it’s 20th anniversary as well as delighting us with other classics like ‘Brassneck’ and ‘Kennedy’. And the oldies don’t seem the slightest bit dated.

Kennedy! I have been convinced for years that I imagined the existence of that song, since I haven’t heard it anywhere, or even mentioned anywhere since the first time I heard it when it was new.

Super Furry Animals at Leeds Town Hall last night. Without doubt the most elegant venue I’ve visited, just a shame about the bar facilities…
As far as the music was concerned, SFA played a set orientated towards their more recent stuff, understandably as they’ve got a new album out! The guitar based tracks sounded good, though some of their more eclectic songs lacked a bit live, in particular ‘Northern Lites’ which wasn’t the same without the steel drums! I must say that I’m not convinced by their latest offerings, though they put on a good show and their back catalogue is excellent so I’m glad that I’ve now seen them at least once!
