I’ll be honest, I’ve only bought two albums that have been released this year, them being Antichrist by Akercocke and Over The Under by Down. Most of the CDs I’ve bought this year have been old stuff and reissues - Pink Floyd’s first, Levellers reissues, Therapy?’s BBC sessions, to name a few.

^ what Fatboy said.

Apart from the Down CD, which is on my xmas list to replace the pirated copy I have, I can’t remember actually buying a NEW album, just lots of back catalogue stuff.

Even if a really great album has come out this year, going by my previous history it’ll be a good 15 years before I get into it!

Squall, is that REM Live album worth getting? I hardly bother with live stuff, don’t really listen to them. Live albums are so 70s.

Like one or rwo other wombles i buy mainly old stuff (i’m forever catching up), but so far this year i’d say Year Zero by Nine Inch Nails. But i’m also very tempted to say Christmass by Frank Black, which came right at the very end of last year…

Well its a live dvd and the whole thing on 2 cd’s. It’s a lot of Around the Sun songs but the classics are performed well and Stipe sounds really good. So yeah.

Just bought Down’s & Serj Tankian new albums.

I’d have to say Serj is my fav so far - anyone who likes SOAD will defo agree! Down’s new album starts off great, but kind of loses me half way through, I probabaly just need to give it a bit more of a chance

Serj’s new album is too similar with SOAD. But if someone likes it, I appreciate that. But I don’t like that album. Definitely a big disappointment, but not as SP’s Zeitgeist is.

If you exclude The Wildhearts from the list, for obviously being the best album released this year. Has anyone else heard The State of Things by Reverend and The Makers? I think it’s brilliant.

i bought one of their singles recently which i’m impressed with, i’ll probably pick up the album at some stage.

Another contender for album of the year for me is the new Cribs one. Fucking top.
