Last couple of days I’ve been listening to Urge Overkill - Saturation.
After cleaning out the car it was the only CD left in there so I’ve been playing it driving to and from work.
Had almost forgotten how great an album it is , absolutely love it.

Rained in and I won’t come unclouded. There’s a stillness in the air, I pray for sound.
We’re too smart to watch TV. We’re too dumb to make believe this is all we want from life.
And I’m too dumb to talk to you, You’re too quick to listen to me.
I’m saying nothing you don’t know - nothing you don’t know ..
Walked out and I won’t be rerouted, if I don’t go outside today, I never will.
Too old not to get excited about rain and roads, Egyptian ruins, our first kiss.
I love you more than I’ve ever loved anyone before or anyone to come.
Someone said your name, I thought of you alone. I was just the same twenty blocks away.
Blew twelve and kissed the thirteenth finger, “Rabbit, rabbit,” on the first, I hold my breath.
Did tricks I hoped you wouldn’t notice, a superstitious hyperrealist, I’ll make you mine.
I guess you can fill in all the extra chorussy bits yourself :)

You may or may not be plaeased to know that I have listened to ‘What a Good Boy’ (Bare Naked Ladies) about 450 times this weekend. I just can’t seem to get enough of it for some reason.

@Mum… What A Good Boy is amazing. Have you got Maroon? It’s a later album than Gordon (which WAGB is on) but I think, lyrically, you would love it :)

WAGB is a brilliant song, and I do have Maroon but only on my laptop. I will pay it more serious attention if and when I get sick of Gordon. It is strange - i can not listen to an album for years and then I have to spend a week or 2 playing it to death and then it goes back on the shelf for another year or so.
The other thing that is strange is the number of boxes in my collection that have no CDs in them. In future all my visitors are going to be searched on the way out

I just read Slash’s (auto)biography, so it’ll probably be GnR all week now. Last week I finished a Freddie Mercury book and it was Queen-a-go-go on my car stereo for days on end.
I have bought an Ian Curtis book but I am waiting til I am feeling mentally up to a week of Joy Division before I read that…
