Alas my suggestions for a cartoon strip and spin-off bubblegum/ trading card franchise entitled “Captain LaVey and his Damned Hordes of SexMagick Concubines Versus The Constrained Minds of The Brainwashed Conformists” was turned down by every company I approached.

Talking of a bad rap, I also tried to bring Satanism to a more “street” audience, by taking it away from Black Metal and introducing it to a Hip Hop market. However, everyone I talked to about my idea for “Black Rap” just looked puzzled and said, “Well, ‘s black anyway, innit..?”

Top 3 (in no particular order):
AEREOGRAMME - My heart has a wish that you would not go
MALCOLM MIDDLETON - A brighter beat
FUTURE OF THE LEFT - Curses

These are not only the best albums of the year but even of the past few years! 2007 was a very good year indeed!

Honestly the only 2007 album I can say I have enjoyed in The Blackening by Machine Head.
Like a few others I have been looking at getting stuff from a few years ago or later, but I don’t think that they have been heading into Japanese Ska/Punk :D

Okay, I’ll leave quietly :(

A band from Iceland called Sign. Their album The Hope is the best thing i’ve heard by a mile. The last time i was infatuated with an album like this it was probably THe Holy Bible MANY Years ago!
For those of you who may be intrigued Sign sound like a cross between Evanescence (if they were angry… and good!) and 30 STM if they had any tunes!! I heartily recommend you buy it!

- The National - Boxer
- Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet

Not original, both have been chosen before, but they are the best !

Yeah, i didn’t realise til after the show that they supported the Wildies @ Rock City when I saw em in May! I think they have recorded a version of Youth Gone Wild for some Kerrang album which i’d be interested to hear as they sound nothing like Skid Row!

ps (back on topic!) The Wildhearts album is my second fave of the year despite it having a few too many moments where those happy, sugary melodies get a bit too much.

it has been a pretty bad year for albums for me. only two spring to mind which are SATT by the manics and in rainbows by radiohead. but in my defence i am 26 so i’m past it by now. i’m just not down with the kids anymore. editors second album was okay but it was just more of the same really. i like living back in the 80’s, it’s nice there.
