As Andy was a former pupil of the afore mentioned school… I’d like to know what he thinks of the treatment of present pupil grant stranaghan… If anyone wants to see the story… just enter grant stranaghan into google etc…

This is actually sexism, cos you wouldn’t suspend a female student from school for having long hair now, would you? And what exactly is wrong with long hair? Blame God, it was his idea to make it grow automatically, not Ozzy Osbourne or Gene Simmons.

I know the guys face, think it’s plain stupid as one of my friends has his hair way longer than this guy.
And the friend I am referring to is still in school…

Complete nonsence. I went through the same thing because of long hair when I was in school. It’s schools having rules for the sake of having rules, not rules that serve a purpose.

Bullshit; the kid knew the rules when he went there so rules are rules and he should either not go there or just have his hair cut.

The rules stupid as anything but it’s in place so should be kept to.

I think this is pathetic. The lad is in her final year in school and his important year too, and the school is living in a dreconian era. The isolation/seperation from his friends will do more harm than good.

What I want to know is what the hell has your fashion sense/ choice of clothing to do with your school?!

The way I see it, a school is a service, and the pupils are the customers. Do what you are there to do - TEACH. It infuriates me how many kids leave school without basic English skills and I wonder how much of that is to do with time wasted shouting at pupils for not having their ties straight or having long hair or blah blah blah.

I went through a bit of a challange the roles of gender phase

and the fact I was in love (platonically) with richey edwards at the time probably diddnt help.

hahaha you should of seen the head of maths reaction I was a typical old school teacher, he victimised me quite a bit cus of my long hair so when I showed up in makeup he sent me to the deputy head instead of the usual go to the toilets and wash it off the girls would get.

I had long hair for quite a while when I was a student (over 15 years ago now  ) and even to this day I am amazed and disappointed by how much of a big deal people made it.

I mean, 1990’s and people were STILL making an issue of a guy with long hair?! And I lost count of the people who told me to get it cut, or that it looked scruffy or whatever. I would NEVER tell someone how to have their hair, or insult them to their faces like that! Just can’t believe that in this day and age anyone really serious honestly gives a fuck about the length of someone’s hair.
