I always feel real middle class guilt when I watch Shameless. I know it’s a good show but I feel like a voyeur and can’t enjoy it

Been watching Catterick, which is a dark comedy from a few years ago written by and starring Vic and Bob - fucking funny! :)

Didn’t like anything about The Thick Of It, but must admit haven’t like anything Chris Langham has done, so had even less time for him when he was going through the courts.

Loved Big Night Out, nothing else even comes close in recent Vic & Bob stuff.

But then I do usually like the things most of my friends don’t of have never even heard of - Joking Apart, Green Wing, Drop The Dead Donkey, Waiting For God, IT Crowd - if I get into it straightaway, then I’ll stick with it until the complete end. But if not I’ll give it usually three episode then ditch it.

So, has anything new been released in the past 2 years or so? In the “Links to cool things thread” I discovered “Flight Of The Conchords”. That looks like a fun show. Reminded me a bit of “The Mighty Boosh”.

Anything else?

The only thing i have seen of late that was of any use was a sketch show on BBC 3 or 4, it was on late at night. yeah i know, pretty informative.

There was a show on recently called ‘the wrong door’ - it had moments of brilliance peppered with utter shit. Was worth a watch at least

I have no idea what’s been released in the last couple of years in GB.

Comedies I’ve enjoyed recently have been Catterick, Peep Show, and The Green Wing, but they’re all years old

Stella Street , I just reminded myself of how good this was, 10 minute episodes of genius impersenations. Joe Pesci and Al Pacino are my favourites , this youtube user has the first two series’ uploaded for anyone who does like it.

Benidorm is ok…not amazing but watchable but if you think about it the Office is all GB has produced in the last 7 years thats been really quality. And no, you can’t add Mitchell And Webb to that - they are rubbish!

The only thing I’ve seen on adultswim is the really weird talking floating food thing. Fuck knows what it is, but my lad swears it’s comedy genius …

Erm, Mitchell and Webb write about 10% of their sketch show… have you seen the credits list on their CDs? It’s huge. What I would say about them is that the radio show was genuinely brilliant.. I don’t think it was adapted for TV particularly well and sadly more people know them for TV than radio.

Reminds me when i saw the Lenny Henry show and the list of writers in the credits was massive and his name was last.
