I’m From Barcelona in Cologne tonight, about twenty people on stage in quite a small club, blowing around loads of balloons and confetti and having a blast.
My concert of the year so far ;-) and definitely hard to beat for any band, even T?

Korn last night, well two thirds of korn and a back up band. Holy shit i enjoyed myself, it would of been hard not to, im not really a massive korn fan anymore but i grew up on this band and finally seeing them was so good, the crowd was insane, the cia was so hot I could hardly breath, the dry ice machine was such a relief every now and then. The lesson ive learnt from this gig is dont take the wrong things before going to a metal gig at an arena as youll regret it when your struggling to breath yet still somehow finding it in you to jump up and down and sing along.

next time i go to a show like that im bringing bottles of water, the security noticed people were in bad way so held up a few cups of water, but they held up like 5 cups of water and there were like 5,000 people there, i got 2 of these cups, after going all out to get them (i was so desprate and determined) but cus they were fought over all the water spilt over everyone by the time i managed to grab the cup.

Saw some cool groups but didn’t really know most of the bands… Two Australian ones, Midnight Jugganauts and Faker, were good, Anti Flag were cool and Rage Against the Machine headlined but I got bored of them after a while and went for a wander instead. Unkle, however, were the band of the day… the live band was fucking awesome the visuals fantatsic and songs from all the albums just took on so much more life i recommend them to anyone as there was something for everyone.

It frightens me to think that some people might need an explanation as to who Johhny Marr is..

It’s like saying “Jesus Christ..you know, God’s lad…?”

Only of course Johnny Marr isn’t Jesus or anything.

Johnny Marr exists, for a start.

@Dennis

Yeah, 1 of the guys that was working with us was wondering why they played a Smiths song and not a Stone Roses song. He thought it was John Squire!! :-o:-o:-o

To be fair though they have done some pretty good songs, when I am in one of my Indie moods. Just something about Tim Burgess that rubs me up the wrong way though, he seems like a bit of a chancer who got lucky on the back of the Stone Roses’ success.

Ha ha, I know what you mean. I did just go to the gig more as an excuse for a few beers with a mate of mine. Gig was very good though and they are very strong live and unlike Ian Brown (who I am a fan of) Burgess can sing live.

Got me wondering, if The Charlatans can get a close to sell out gig on a wednesday in Barcelona, surely Therapy? could too, and their albums are just as easy to find here. T? haven’t played here for years, certainly not since I moved here in 2001, just as Shameless was being toured.

Now in my head they were very upbeat and had great between song chats and whitty comments… but i was hammered. So in reality they were probably quiet, stood still and were just good at what they do… but hey i probably had way more fun then anyone else so fuck it.

A good night out.

I’ve just come back from The QOTSA gig in Paris. At the begining,I thought it would have been boring, but as time went by, I got into it and enjoyed it a lot!!!! Noticed that Josh Homme got his nerves on a security guard too rude with the kids who crowdsurfed and slammed at the first rows and as he carried on being that way;Josh promised him that he would make him fire (!!!!!) and dedicated to him a song…Sorry, can’t tell you which one cos’ my Knowledge of The QOTSA’s repertoire is poor …

Went to see Dillinger Excape Plan in Dublin a few weeks back in the Village. Excellent gig, the place was packed and the singer spat ant no one which was very nice of him. Couple of stage dives from him also, he is a feet first kind of guy.
Check out the first few seconds of this from a 2005 gig. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-lxwlgyhhA

This “Finland´s Lou Reed” with his old guitarist Mattila from his 80´s bands and the lineup (including Mattila´s son) threw an excellent gig.
