Did anyone watch ‘Ashes to Ashes’? The Life on Mars sequel/spin off thing? I had my reservations because I was such a big famn of Life on Mars, but as it happened I thought it was great! I loved the way they incorporated the whole Life on Mars thing in such a funny way, and the way they threw the hint of Spaghetti Western humour into Gene Hunt’s arrival and … ah I won’t go on. Great though. No-one should watch it that hasn’t seen LoM series 2 though, there’s spoilers from the start.

mrs h - I watched the second Life On Mars the other day and I have to admit I found it very slightly irritating…I would have preferred more of a serious tone but there seemed to be more “comedy” moments in this one

Don’t panic - there are definite comedy moments all the way through, but overall it gets increasingly dark and more mysterious. Stick with it, please! :)

Just saw The Prestige. Pretty gripping stuff. Christopher Nolan is a damn good Director. I had guessed the ending already..or at least HALF of it :p I think it had one too many twists though at the end for MY liking. I like my twists to be BIG and for there to be ONE :P Too many and it just gets annoying.
Good FIlm though. :)

It’s annoying having to wait a week for every episode though - I only got into Lost recently and was able to watch huge chunks of the first 3 series on box set. ‘Twas great!
By the way Chr1s - did you see the references to Desmond being a Celtic supporter in the show?

I loved The Prestige, too. I guessed half the ending, too, Muskeg/Squall. ;) But I don’t care how many twists there are, as long as they fit the story. I hate it when films put in a big twist, just because they think there needs to be one to make the rest of the film halfway worthwhile.
I’m interested in how Lost is going (and also suffering for the only one episode a week), though I still have the suspicion that Lost is basically the televisual equivalent of Pyramid Selling…
