Well at least Michael’s still living the rock and roll lifestyle - Legend!

not for long. ok, maybe michael fucked up, but hey, it’s been the first time in years, at least to my knowledge.
that doesn’t make him pete doherty now, does it?! guess he underestimated the power of the jägermeister … ;)
i’m shure he’ll be pretty embaressed of himself anyway now, so let’s give forgive him and move on.
this is rock’n’roll!

Next it’ll be photos in the tabloids of Michael getting out of cars pissed with his knickers showing and then it’ll be hidden-camera footage of him drinking Jagermesiter at home and then it’ll be rehab and then we have Some Kind Of Here Be Monsters the “Therapy? Therapy Film” and…
*shakes head* It’s all gone a bit Amy Winehouse…

Yep, Michael’s appearance was a shame, indeed, Andy didn’t seem to be too sober either but at least he was able to get through the set.
The setlist itself was very different from the usual greatest hits stugg the guys usually play on such occasions.
It had Punishment Kiss as opener, Rust and Isolation being placed in the middle. Also played were Sprung, Rock You Monkeys, Innocent X, Potato Junkie, Diane and Screamager to finish it.
Teethgrinder was on the list (Roxy got it and post the exact set) but was ommitted, instead Neil and Andy jammed around a bit including a fierce short version of New Day Rising by Hüsker Dü.
So let’s see how the lads present themselves in Bochum tomorrow.
Oh, the other bands:
Portugal The Man were first, starting at 8pm sharp (an unusual early time for shows at the Stollwerck) and were really good. Their music sounds like a blend of Mars Volta and Modest Mouse and live they’re more rocking than on record.
Dúné were next, seven very young people from Denmark who seemed to have to have enjoyed their set and were really frantic on stage. They’re sort of dance-orientated indiepop mixing bands like Wombats, Editors or Eskobar.
I must admit they were the best band of the evening (though Robby and roxy will both say both other bands were shite ;-) )

I still wanna see footage/ photos though! :D

I was actually at the infamous Wembley Saturday Gig - it was a good laugh actually. Obviously teh music was alright since Liam doesnt contribute but his onstage banter was most amusing - and he refused to leave the stage even after people were leaving after the final song :P
second time i saw them though they were AWESOME. :)

So, Micheal fell before the first song (Punishment Kiss) and couldn’t finish out the set, but how was his playing during the set itself? Was it obvious, by his playing, that he was wasted?
I like to think that ‘rock instinct’ (!) takes over, and he performed like the ferocious bass monster that we all admire!! :-)

It definitely was. You could see that his complete attention was focused on remaining on stage in an upright position as he had no timing whatsoever and didn’t hit the right chords.
But I guess the evil priest will be in full action tonight again.
