:p i only just saw it !
1.Def Maybe and Morning Glory = classic. Next Three, not as good but The recent album was great.
2.The Bends and Ok Computer = classic. but no decent albums since IMO
3.Thom Yorke = miserable whining sod with no sense of humour
4.Liam Gallagher = arrogant twat but can be hilarious at times. / Noel IS hilarious and occasionally humble - his arrogance is tongue in cheek ( and he admits it )
I find that most people who say ” i dont like oasis ” like the music but hate Liam. I LOVE oasis and even I hate him :p
most people would say radiohead are ” miserable bollocks with an irritating whiny frontman ”
so i guess its about even
It’s just whether you choose to hate oasis because its cool to , or love radiohead because its cool to.
… :) let the bashing commence.

Both are not really my cup of tea but I’ll go for Radiohead though you can’t really compare them anyway.
Oasis are much more of a pop band that’s why I’d prefer Radiohead as they’re much more diverse even to the extent that I can’t stand them in their Kid A / Amnesiac phase.

Actually Squall makes some valid points there, which in a nutshell are:
People hate Oasis cos bashing Oasis is cool
People like Radiohead cos liking Radiohead is cool
Now that’s not to say that ALL people hate Oasis for that reason or that ALL people like Radiohead for that reason either but it’s annoying when people just regurgitate the accepted point of view like sheep.
Personally I think Def Maybe is a classic, timeless rock n roll pop songs, great attitude, top singing in an esoteric kind of way, fun, enjoyable, whatever. And Live Forever, for all it’s simplicity and playground rhyming scheme was making a very good point when all around bands were singing about how the end was nigh and doom and gloom and I Hate Myself And I Want To Die and Noel comes up with “Fuck that miserable bollocks, I’m gonna live forever.” Fair play for that.
I think they ran out of ideas a long time ago though.
Radiohead? Too arch and cryptic for me to enjoy these days, sorry.

i agree that whilst be here Now, Standing on the shoulder of Giants were sorely lacking somewhat, there is still great material to be found if you delve. However, I do feel that Heathen Chemistry felt like a step in the right direction and Dont believe The Truth is very nearly back to morning glory levels of greatness.

That’s what the little blobby black icon means. If you rest your mouse over his name you will see it says he changed it on 6th Feb.

Who would win in a fist fight do you recon? I know Oasis talk the talk, but Liam’s been on the wrong side of a twatting on many occasion and I’ve never read a tabloid incident about him getting the better of anyone. Noel has a gob on him but doesn’t look too handy, and the rest of the band are just hired hands aren’t they? probably lack the conviction to stand up and fight… On the other hand - Radiohead are a bit posh aren’t they - then again, could mean mummy could afford to send them to Ju Jitsu twice a week… Never read about Thom York getting his teeth knocked out… but then again, he has that wonky eye - just like Rocky in Rocky 2
I wonder.

Oasis and Radiohead are so different. Both our timeless. Radiohead is more innovative and unique while oasis write the more memorable tunes(I ask people that say they like Radiohead all the time to name their five favorite songs and most only come up with one or two if any beside creep) . Point being is that both are great bands and show to be due to their continued critical acclaim and popularity. Radiohead gets awards all the time and Oasis just nabbed a outstanding contribution to music award. Again Both are great they just hit different interests. Enough with the hate.
