Lets be honest here, thats never gonna happen no matter how much we’d all love it too. I just hope that the new album sounds great and that they raise a few eyebrows when it comes out. Looking forward to a good year for Therapy?

I will never understand why some bands are huge and others are not…
I have been saying this for a couple of years now but if the time is not right for Therapy? to be big at the moment, then it isn’t ever going to happen.
There seems to be a real revival in the old school metal riffery of yesteryear and also a boom in alternative, slightly indie-ish, introspective but melodic rock. Now if Therapy? don’t fit into those categories (but naturally being way better than most of the other bands) then I am much mistaken.
Still, The Almighty were never going to make big waves at the moment, were they?!

it is how it is. personally i wasn’t bothered by the return of the almighty… they had their run which was great and then came back rather averagely. I think its great that T? stuck together through the lean times, respect for that - we aren’t gonna get em back on radio 1 but we sure can keep spreading the word!

I think what I’ve been meaning to say on the subject has already been said. Lets enjoy the band whilst they’re still around. We can only spread the word around.

Er, actually Therapy? were very big in the Troublegum to semi-detatched era, but then decided to release a pile of crap called suicide pact, good name but unlistenable.
say what you want about not selling out, playing what they want etc., but it was turd and a lot of the faithful lost confidence after that.
Sorry, but its true!

ouch! Personally i thought SP:YF was a very different sounding record but once you get into it the songs were actually good. To be fair to gentz tho, its not a great idea to ‘come back’ with an out of tune lo-fi album that alienates even most of the hardcore following! they should have made High Anxiety at that point i reckon, released ‘nobody here but us’ as a single and cashed in!
Its when they followed it up with shameless that even I stopped bothering with them for a couple of years!

the last great T? record was SP:YF, I haven’t been blown away by the T? for years and I don’t think its gonna change. I wish them the best and i’ll be getting the new one regardless. Personally I blame Voodoo Doll.

Well,
As a record I actually like SPYF - I just wasn’t really happy with the recording, the songs kicked way more ass live.
But let’s be honest, commercially, it was a suicide pact - I know loads of people who gave up on them around that time. They went from filling venues that held thousands to ones which fit hundreds. I however learned to like the album after a while.
Can’t wait for the new one - I think they are going to put in a decent effort.

but they were dropped from their major label after releasing semi detached, and i don’t think there was any other major willing to sign them after that, right? and suicide pact was a reaction to all this. suicide pact was quite a shock when i listened it for the first time (and it was the first therapy? album i bought on the day of the release) but i think it’s one of their best, and so do most therapy? fans. if therapy? had tried to do another commercial and radio friendly album back then and it had flopped -which most probably it would- maybe the band would be no more.

SPYF was a reaction to the shit that they were going when A&M went under and they couldn’t tour. The album is great though new comers would need to understand the circumstances that it was recorded under.

In order to become big, you have to sign major label that would invest into promotion. Unfortunatelly this is not likely to happen. And yes, Therapy? were big during Troublegum-Semi Detached era. However, I think that the turning point was Semi Detached. Therapy? had problems with A&M at that time, the label didn’t promote album properly. I also think, that after huge success with Troublegum A&M expected Therapy? to release Troublegum 2 and they were shocked when they heard “Infernal love”, obviously they were not happy with that. That is when relations with the record company went wrong. Anyway, all we can do is spread a word. I play T? to my friends. Many of them (especially my neighbours :) were impressed with Scopophobia, which I ussually play during the parties at my place. I’m glad that Therapy gained some new fans here in Lithuania as well :). It’s great, that T? came to Lithaunia and played in B2gether festival. Lots of people who never heard Therapy? before, were very impressed by their performance.

suicide pact is one of their best and it’s THE album that got me really into them and wanted me so see them live for the first time, which i did.
i’ve been listening to troublegum and nurse before, cause my older brother had the albums, and i liked them a lot already. but with suicide pact i’ve became the hardcore
fan that i am now. i didn’t really like shameless at first, except for a few songs like i am the money which i liked from the first hearing, but now the rest of the songs has
grown on me too. high anxiety was top, but it’s one of the albums i don’t listen to very often now after a few years have gone by. n.a.n.e. and o.c.f.a. are both top albums
in my opinion, especially n.a.n.e. which was, just like suicide pact, kind of an statement, it just had a special feeling to it.
