If you are too skint to afford the entrance fee - get your hands in your pockets…

Well spotted ;)

Graeme, my mum said the same when I suggested it to her.

Grant, I’m tempted. You gonna send away for a donation pack?

You’d have to get there early to get down to the front to see the bands, cause I’ve heard it sends you blind…

“Download 2008”? Surely this year won’t be available for download until a couple of weeks into 2009, to give them time to compress it and get it onto the server and all that..?

Does anyone know if it will just be the highlights of this year or every single thing that has happened? Only I’d rather some of the things that I have gotten up to using Swarfega and a lifesize model of Rihanna remain strictly between me and my conscience.

The Wildhearts are there - yes! and sign - Fuck Yes! got more than 1 reason for going now! (Motorhead was the other). i may even stop being a miserable old bugger and go and check out some of there younger bands the kids are listening to these days as opposed to drinking my time away! (but don’t quote me on that!)

Check out slaves to gravity if your into the wildhearts or sign.

I aint going to download , looks like its bulldog bash (what a lineup) and a local festival for me this year.

hopefully download next year if i have money.

Looking through the download line up this is who i’d want to see out of it :

Judas Priest
Motorhead
Dillenger Escape Plan
Slaves To Gravity
Rival Schools
The Offspring
Skindred
Sign
Pendulum
Ash
Malefice
Blackstone cherry
Wildhearts
Airborune
Lethal Bizzle (or jizzy tissue according to jeremy clarkson :p)
Jonathan Davis
Army of freshman

some of those bands aint my thing on record but i’d see at a festival

Rival Schools? They got back together?
They only had the one album, which was great, and last I saw the singer was in another band, Walking Concert. (not as good)

Judas Priest may indeed be pretty shite, but being on a bill alongside the utterly, uttely, utterly awful Kiss would make even the prospect of watching The Osmonds appealing.

Yeah that sounds about right ;)

the line up is pretty shithouse… the last time i went it was good, too many good bands to choose from… and i had lots of fun.. but that may have been more down to booze, friends and other things. Last few years have sucked balls… its a rip off as well.

If i had the money i would happy pay to see the festivals that have Carcass, at the gates and the haunted on… alas not to be.

They never go for the indie label bands do they, ie Carcass, Deicide and what have you. Put them on the main stage and it’ll be worth the ticket price, but then again, its a coperate event now, isn’t it.

Very true, its quite sad at times as its meant to be “the” metal festival but thats one thing is lacks.. i do have problems with them putting too many bands on the main stage in one day as well… Satyricon played one year and the crowd was loving it but they had such a short set that they played four songs… its just pointless. the old monsters of rock was good as they all got a resonable amount of time each.
