new stuff (Clowns Galore)

#

Started by butters (mikey)

just checked out the new video the guys have put up of them jamming a new idea out.

personally, im liking it.
the drums are nice and aggressive with plenty of snareage.
the bass is as deep and beautifully rumbling as to be expected
and the guitar…quite different to recent offerings but sounds good, especially the gratuitous use of slides.
keep up the good work lads

opinions etc?

I really liked the tune, I just wish it didn’t involve the word ‘clowns’. *shudder*

Can’t believe how much I enjoyed that given it’s just a rough jam recorded on a single mic.

I’m excited, but that’s probably because my jeans are too tight!

So is “Clowns Galore” the name of that song? Strange… that was the name of a song recorded for the OCFA sessions which was apparently a completed tune, apart from the vocals. The song in the video only seems to be an early idea.

It’s great, even if the sound is not good at all… I heard a lot of bass, and I like it (I play the bass!)!!!

Actually there are quite a few women of a certain age round these parts that wear so much make-up that you’d swear they were going to some kind of clown convention.
Me being one of them.

Anyway..nice to hear from the band, looking forward to more new stuff…

Is it me or does that sound like Early Therapy? (as in Babyteeth) mixed with the recent sound?

yeah, i was thinking it had a bit of an early feel but still a bit more recent too. but i was also thinking it sounds nothing like theyve done before.
its hard to plac, but why does it need to be placed anyway. all i care about is the fact that it sounds pretty good and hopefully its a decent representation of how the new album is going to sound.

i am moist in anticipation.

Just heard it now. It’s quite good in a raw way. I hear a sorta Nurse-like sound. Interesting guitar. Can’t wait to hear what they do with it.

I think it sounds pretty experimental - have a feeling that they won’t be playing it safe like with OCFA which is a good thing (not that I don’t like OCFA). Am happy that they are back writing stuff, can’t wait for the next album
