DRinks company pledges a free can to everyone in the USA if GnR release Chinese Democracy!

“The company said in an “unprecedented show of solidarity with Axl, everyone in America, except estranged guitarists Slash and Buckethead” would receive a free can of the drink. “

I’m not entirely sure what that means, but it surely can’t make Dr Pepper taste any worse…

Could this be a sign the damned thing may see the light of day?
Corporate sponsorship to recoup the costs and an immediate and positive response from AXl. Any way, if it comes out on the same day as the T? album I know which one I’ll be buying.

^ Good point - might be the only way the record company could get some money back on their investment. There was some talk a while back that the album was finished and ready to go but the record label wouldn’t release it cos they’d rather sell it to another company and get some money back on it rather than have to spend even more money marketing it and shipping it etc and just losing even more dosh.

Whatever happens now, the album will be a huge anticlimax when it comes out. I remember the same thing happening with the Stone Roses’ Second Coming, and that was ony about a 5 year wait. When it surfaced people were all “Ummmm, it’s alRIGHT I spose but…”

Does anyone actually care about this album? Guns n Roses were great but I couldn’t give a fuck about this.

I care from a kind of macabre sense of “ooo I hope it’s REALLY shit!” point of view, like car crash rubbernecking - just to see what the fuck Rose has been wasting the last four hundred years on, but as a piece of Rock music that threatens to be any good? Nah, no chance.
For me GnR began and ended with Appetite For Destruction anyway.

I care in a sort of ‘gossip mag’ kind of way. I’m interested in the making of the album and how the fuck it’s not out yet and can cost so much, rather than the content. I’m sure if it is released that it will eventually end up in my record collection, much in the same way as a GnR and STP fan I have the bought the Velvet Revolver cds (which are good).

I heard some leaked songs over the weekend and they weren’t anything like as shite as I expected. Not genius worth a 17 year wait, though..

I was expecting dreary ballads and desperate genre-shifting to show what a “varied artist” he is, but most of what I heard was pretty straightforward but catchy Rock. Which makes me wonder why the fuck he couldn’t make music like that with Slash but hey, at least we have Axl’s awkwardness to “thank” for Velvet Revolver’s existance. The cunt.

LOL! :D Great band. No, i can’t say it even in jest. “she builds quick machines” is the most horrendous song title i’ve ever heard.

Slash is one of my favourite guitarists and I’d love to have seen him at somewhere as small as the Wolves Civic but…I just couldn’t bring myself to listen to a whole set of that shite.

Oh god, absolutely right there mate! Can’t stand Weiland at all.

A great singer/ frontman can make a good band great. However, a Weiland can make a poor band ultra-shite.
