#

Started by Matthias (Matthias Pfeil)

Hello Rene and Sarah, please look for the Tape from Andy he mentioned in the Q&A.
I’m very interested in this Song’s, only know the ‘Moustache Song” from the Acoustic Gig.
Please watch out (remember Andy, if he forgot this).

Andy has found the tape and it is in the post to me now. I shall try to remember how to digitise tapes using the swanky software at work, then Rene will upload it to the site. Aren’t you lucky?

Might nick your copy, if that’s alright?

Got home and the tape has arrived, I will have to investigate when I can use the IT room though so you’ll have to wait a few days more I’m afraid.

I think it might be in MFL, it was called “digitising exams” or something equally meaningful…

The “Moustache Song” is actually called “Serge” and will be posted on the site soon, just ask Hooch!

Slight delay on that… our digitising suite at work has gone AWOL so have posted the tape elsewhere to be converted. It is coming though :)

It’s not forgotten, no.

I think Michael has the digitised tracks now, so it shouldn’t be too long before we get them uploaded to the site :)

And quite strange they are too… I think I’ll put them on a CD and have it on in the car tomorrow, Apple seems like a driving about kind of song to me. :) Cheers Rene!

I love Serge. Very good song. I love Apple too. Tune and keyboard sound are good for me. Both ambiences are light and mind-blowing, especially Apple, as I always knew that T? know how write that sort of songs which have often been out on b-sides about Infernal love period.

First one reminds me of Scott Walker a bit, there’s a bit of a Death in Vegas - Contino Sessions vibe to both of them too (though these were recorded 4 years before that album).

I’m really excited about hearing the rest. Very interesting indeed!

By the way, in case anyone’s wondering where the name comes from:

“The Casey Jones reaction is cardiac collapse from cocaine use. It derives from a story in which a railroad worker named Casey Jones competed against a machine in hammering down nails on railroad ties. Casey Jones won but died afterwards because his heart literally “exploded” from beating so fast and working so hard.”

I really like Apple, Serge is nice too, Andy’s voice sounding particularly good. although the rest of the songs might be a bit of a let down, these two being the ones recorded in the studio

@Butters there’s also an American straight edge band called Casey Jones whose lyrics are all about how thankful they are to lead clean lives etc, at first I thought Andy and Martin were “reacting” against them :-/

Then I found out Casey Jones formed in 2005 :-)
