Worst track on Troublegum?

#

Started by Alan (Guest)

This one’s easy - Hellbelly. It’s got a good riff
but the middle part is shite (FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!
etc..etc.. fucking rubbish!)

Isolation - I never liked Joy Division (The T? version is better).
Turn - Just don’t like it.

Hellbelly is one of my favorites, mainly for the lyrics

‘your car salesman smile says it all’

C’mon , the ”fire, fire” bit is shit - without that it would be a good song. Unbeliever is one of the best, very mature. Stop It You’re
Killing Me is the best though.

There’s not really any track on the album that I greatly dislike. At a push I would actually say Screamager but that’s only because the club I go to up here (the only one thats any good and it really aint that great to be honest) plays it ALL the time. It get’s a bit annoying after a couple of years…(4). Come to Aberdeen! Its great!

I’m agreeing with Rz—Isolation is the only song I’d really ever skip while listening to the disc.

The only one I always skip is Unrequited - fuck knows how that made it onto the album and Evil Elvis didn’t. (Presuming EE was written prior to recording Troublegum?)

Joy Division kick ass! they have influenced almost all todays successful ‘alternative’ artists, and have been covered by the likes of smashing pumpkins, hole, nine inch nails, and of course T? Transmission is even on the new Izzy Stradlin solo album or so i’m told, and the original version of isolation is better than T?’s. Also, it was the 20th anniversary of Ian Curtis’ death yesterday

well, in my opinion lunacy booth gets a little boring after the _tenth_ time you hear it, and brainsaw sounds pretty much like a lot of other (more interesting) T? tracks. unrequited may not be the best song T? ever made, but it’s got personality and originality - it might just be me, but i find it slightly less boring than nowhere…

the best songs to me are screamager, stop it you’re killing me, die laughing, then the others (no, ‘then the others’ is not a song out of troublegum)

rahvin

It has to be the ‘you are my sunshine’ thing glued on to the end
of ‘Brainsaw’. However, I’ve already had fourteen orgasms by that
point so it doesn’t really matter. I’d be greedy if I went for
fifteen.

Although it’s definetley one of T?’s best songs, Evil Elvis didn’t make it on to Troublegum due to it being a ‘lost’ demo as is stated on the Die Laughing single case.
It’s the same think with the Semi-Detached b-sides, Suing God & Kids Stuff (I haven’t heard 60 Watt Bulb yet). Both of those are better than some of the crap on there. I say crap in the nicest sense of course because all T? albums are excellent and out of all of their songs there’s only one I actually can’t stand and that’s Speedball.
