sex pistols are a talentless band. yes they helped introduce the punk genre but thats it,

for coldplay, well I didn’t listen to their albums. but I watched 7-8 videos that they recorded for a song. but last week a friend of mine warned me that those videos are for different songs!!!

i DID like johnny rotten, but he’s become a parody of himself. He could still be a relevent artist and saved all this backbiting for his 60’s, but i think as far as his career is concerend now he’s shot his load. PiL are one of THE vastly underrated bands we ever had, and he could still be doing it. I think its a real shame.
It IS a shame, but not for him though! He’s getting older, he doesn’t need to do it, he obviously doesn’t want to do it and he can afford not to do it. Good luck to him, I say!
And he’s hardly backbiting - he always says what he thinks, and he doesn’t care what people say about him - where’s the harm? You say what you like about other bands, would you keep your gob shut just because you were famous?
*laughs like a drain at the thought of Dan keeping his gob shut :p*

yeah but he says stuff about other bands just to get attention! People only interview him to get a few spiteful words from him. Every interview its either slagging off a bad, slagging off mclaren, or saying how much he misses Sid.

Well its not his fault, the media isnt as black and white as youd like to think, they could interview him for 20 minutes about all sorts, then just use 3 minutes of him slagging someone of.

Well said Gimme - I couldn’t agree more! When middle baby lobster was on that reality show they spent 8 days living with another band, and you wouldn’t have recognised any of them from the edit. They all got on pretty well 90% of the time, but that doesn’t make good TV.
And Dan, I don’t think he does it to try and get attention at all - he just says what he thinks. For every time you hear him slagging somebody off you have probably also heard him drone on for an hour about how much he loves his wife even though they have been together for 30 years, but you filter that bit out because it’s not what you are hoping to hear - you want him to believe he is nasty, but he isn’t.

‘Well if you have four bad days in four straight years, then all four of them are depicted in the media, then yeah. The other 360 days of the year, when you’re just handing out lollipops and riding unicorns through cotton-candy forests and everything’s so magical, they don’t report that. When you tell the cab driver to go fuck himself, that’s who you are that year. The media takes you on your worst day and says: that’s who you are as a person.’

An average Coldplay/Snow Patrol et al gig consists of mainly 20,000 couples in the 30-something age bracket snogging to ‘their song’. I do not respect Chris martin for appearing in Extras. It’s the most self-consciously driven guest appearance in the show and the one which is most designed to re-construct a celebrity’s public image.

So I had a browse through his in car cd collection… it went something like: Best of Jamiroquai, Best of UB40, Best of Simply Red,
then the contempary stuff (he was down with the kids)… Keane, Coldplay, Radiohead (oooh - edgy), Lighthouse Family,
If that was my cd collection I’d gladly shoot myself in the face.
