Anyone - if you ever pick up a magazine with one of those ‘Britania Music Club’ adverts in - and it mirrors your music collection - do the world a favour and just punch yourself in the face… fucking hard.

Its pretty funny alright. Sex Pistols were directly responsible for easily one of the greatest bands being formed, The Clash.

True. And Joy Division, The Damned, Siouxie and the Banshees … They also inspired people all over the country to learn to play and to form bands, and that still goes on. Nearly every teenager I know is either in a band or has been in one, or all their mates are in one. That never happened before …

I don’t think The Sex Pistols were directly responsible for The Damned. The Damned were already around before Anarchy In The Uk was released (In a punk documentary I saw, they said they were really excited to hear what this new single everyone was going on about was like, but when they played it, they said it sounded like old man Steptoe. :D )

You’re right, Smum, and it’s all the Sex Pistols’ fault! Smum’s right, everybody: death to Johnny Rotten!!

It IS a shame, but not for him though! He’s getting older, he doesn’t need to do it, he obviously doesn’t want to do it and he can afford not to do it. Good luck to him, I say!

And he’s hardly backbiting - he always says what he thinks, and he doesn’t care what people say about him - where’s the harm? You say what you like about other bands, would you keep your gob shut just because you were famous?

*laughs like a drain at the thought of Dan keeping his gob shut :p*

the harm is that he’s given up on a pretty incredible career to revel in his own legend!! I’d rather have some new music than the sex pistols. Again.

gimme: i know how the media works thank you very much.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGG GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHH

Dan. Success is measured entirely in personal terms - you just can’t be suggesting that other people should aspire to your ideals … fuck it. I’ll tell you why later. In the meantime, Jesus wept… - the world is so wasted on the young I cannot begin to tell you, I have just had THE strangest conversation with a bouncer and I have decided that the only people in the history of existence who ever knew what they were talking about were Florence Nightingale and George Orwell. I really truly have to do something and that may include never ever coming here again :( Seriously some young people… Bollocks. I’m too furious to type. I only signed in so my sister could use the internet. I could cry and scream for years…

Awww *hugs* that ARGH wasn’t for you!!!!! That was for the f**king knob end that was “sticking up” for the bouncer last night by entirely failing to understand the point I was making. Which was probably not all his own fault but he still should have kept his f**king nose out.

The bit for you started with “Dan” :)

I am very surprised at my excellent typing! :D @Hooch - have you been buggering about with my posts?

Believe it or not they wouldn’t let me out … My argument was that it was my beer and that although I would naturally respect their wishes if they asked me not to drink on their premises I didn’t think it was any of their business if I wanted to take it home.

If you take alcohol from a bar / night club into a public place (ie. street) then the bar is responsible and can pay a fine.

I feel sorry for Brendan a bit more though, as bouncers in Belfast generally let you away with unopened bottles providing they’re concealed.

Ultimately, the bar will not let you take alcohol you purchased from them off their premises as they can end up with a bit of a hefty fine.

(I’m going in for door staff training soon, so I’m learning all this stuff :))

Did you ask for a refund for the price of the drink?
As far as I’m aware, because it wasn’t opened, you’re entitled to your money back.
Also, did the door staff offer you to drink it on the premises, think they have to do that…
