Well said Dennis. Around 97/98 wasn’t it? God I’m starting to feel my age now.

Yes barman, just half a stout.

Whilst I have caught some of BIg Brother, I have managed to not watch BBLB with 100% success so far this year.

But surely the presence of Dermot McSexmuffin on our screen is the only thing that makes Big Brother’s continued existence bearable? Not that I’ve actually watched any BBLB either but still, it’s nice to know he’s there.

Dermot’s not on it this year, is he…?

Dunno, cos I’ve not watched it but I’m fairly sure he’s been replaced by some sub-Never-Mind-The-Buzzcocks-Guest-Presenter types

don’t think he is doing it anymore. I have managed not to see 1 single second of anything Big Brother, not even a photo in the paper. I’m quite happy with my self

Really? Does that mean he’s doing something else where I might be able to watch with the volume turned up?

Like Brendan, I have successfully avoided all of BB so far. Even at work, my colleagues haven’t been talking about it like last year… sweet.

Ya its unusually quite this year isn’t it? I betting that C4 will manage to stir it up with a bit of controversy and get it in the news again to boost the ratings.

By ‘doing’ do you mean repeatedly scraping them down a blackboard, which is actually easier on the ears than listening to anything coming out of the mouth of a Big Brother contestant?

there were two episodes after that one.
basically in a nutshell…
theres another murder by the ice truck killer, this time its the prostitute with the prosthetic arm that angel talked to in the nightclub.
dexter starts connecting the ice truck killer to himself and the flashbacks of the the bloodbath with him when he was a kid.
he finds out that harry was using his mum for information on a drug lord and the drug lord must have found out and thats why she was killed.
rudy proposes to debra on his yacht and its around this time that dexter puts it all together and works out that the killer is rudy leaving a big cliffhanger for the last episode…
then dexter starts trying to track down rudy before he kills debra
he tracks him down and rudy has debra all set up the way dexter usually has his victims before killing them and tells dexter that he has to kill debra to be set free like him because…wait for it…dexter and rudy are brothers and both witnessed the bloodbath when they were kids, but with rudy being a bit older it affected him more.
anyway, dexter refuses to kill debra, dexter and rudy have a little scuffle. dexter wins, and then dexter sets rudy up the way the prostitutes were set up before being killed…quick exchange of dialougue…thn dexter cuts rudy’s throat turns him upside down and lets him bleed to death…thats more or less it

Dexter is a rare case where the show is way better than the books. The first season was basically the first Dexter book, but the second season goes way beyond what the books have. The show actually builds up the characters more than the books. Only potentially interesting bit in the books is how his girlfriend’s kids are budding little Dexters.
But the author killed off the woman leutenant in the first book and mangled Doakes in the second. The girlfriends ex isn’t even in the books. Where the show turned them into big characters.

Can’t wait for the 3rd season

Gotta agree about Dexter Season 2 being a vast improvement over the first season, which was pretty damn good as well. Michael C. Hall was darkly funny and creepier than in the first, and imho Jaime Murray is hot as hell! Season 3 in the fall…
