WOMble Fantasy Football League 08/09

#

Started by Dermot (The Derm)

Yes, there’s 6 weeks to go. But that just gives us more time to get more entrants than the 32 we had last year!

http://fantasy.premierleague.com/

This is the code you need to join this year’s WOMble league:

6445-2269

You can use the same log in details / password as last year if you have them. You can also change your team as much you want before 16th August, when the season starts.

Lets see if 5th Place Junomy can be toppled from their throne :-)

And WOMbles only please!

i hate the way they dont let you see other players teams. anyway, my provisional team is

hart [mnc]
lescott [eve], hutton [tot], samba [bla], corluka [mnc]
fabregas [ars][c], bintley [bla], kranjcar [por], pienaar [eve]
torres [liv], ashton [whm]

subs - kirkland [wig], hunt [bol], ireland [mnc], keane [tot]

im guessing ill have to make quite a few changes due to upcoming transfers. i think samba and possibly bintley will go to man city which could bring me up to 5 players for them.
i think ronaldo is gonna have a shit season this year so i didnt bother with him. if he stays at united his head wont be there and hes got an ankle operation coming up so hell be out for the first month anyway. i think torres will finish top scorer but i reckon the player of the season is gonna be fabregas

“bintley” lol

This is my team… I’m sure it’ll change a lot in the next month and a half too. All depends whether Ronaldo, Adebayor, and Lampard hang about, and who else comes in.

Cech [che]
Ferdinand [mun], Terry [che], Wheater [mid], Baird [ful], Dunne [man]
Ireland [man], Modric [tot]
Torres [liv], Ashton [whm], Rooney [mun] (c)

subs - Scwarzer [ful], kranjcar [por], mendes [por], kilbane [wig]

I agree that Torres will be top scorer… will prob have a bet on it in fact. I think Portsmouth will have a good season too - FA Cup winners last year, and this year it looks like they’ll have a forward line of Crouch and Defoe

Howard (Everton)

Bouma (Villa) Dunne (Man City) Gallas (Arsenal) Corluka (Man City)

Gerrard [c] (Liverpool) Carrick (Man U) Barry (Villa , soon to be liverpool) Malbranque (Spurs)

Torres (Liverpool) Carew (Villa)

Subs : Schwarzer (Fulham) Hunt (Bolton) Smertin (Fulham) Ashton (West Ham)

Really looking forward to this season , I genuinally think it could be Liverpools time for the leauge if we get Barry and Robbie Keane… then again I always think they COULD do it. Heres hoping. You watch first game of the season against sunderland away a frustrating 0-0 or 1-1 , would be typical.

Back to retain my title, not gonna give my team away as others will steal my genius ideas!! I think i’m over confident!
Didnt realise i’d won anything last year, thanks very much for that. I’ll pm you my address.

Intriguing. We’ll see what it’s like when it’s launched; if more people want to do that one it’s fine – still only 8 people signed up so far

Well, I’m so sorry to steer off topic.

Yes Fantasy Football is great, as is the Guardian.
