Its always been obvious that Jason was not allowed to contribute and played what he was told… thats hardly his fault.
It just seems like James is chasing headlines at other peoples expense - he’s not stupid, he’s been in the business (and it is a business with Metallica) and he knows that it is gonna make a cute little soundbite.

Exactly.
I think he’s just trying to praise the new guy, who he quite clearly fancies the pants off. I don’t think any offence was meant to Jason.

I don’t either. Jason has dished a good few slaggings off towards his old bandmates and Metallica have not really said anything bad about him.
has anyone heard Metallica’s version of Remember Tomorrow yet? its pretty good apart from being a carbon copy of the original just with better production.

yeah it was a bit er… different! I thought the devildriver track was terrible but apart from that its pretty good. As usual Sign didn’t disappoint despite completely re-working Run To The Hills!
I feel sorry for all the people that are going to get into Sign in 2 years time when they break through surrounded by hype, you should be listening to them NOW!

What James actually said was no offence to Jason but Rob’s contributed more to this album than Jason did in 14 years, but that’s mostly our fault.
I’ll bet that little vignette at the end was left off in the quote…

suicidal tendencies were ace!!
Okay, he’s landed on his feet financially, but its a bit like leaving a regular first team place to go and sit on the bench at chelsea.

Its not metallica, the company is refered to as Frantic Inc. I’ve seen one of their gig contracts and instead of refering to it as a metallica concert it actually says “this contract is for a performance by Frantic Inc. (metallica)”

Ozzy backing band a bad gig?! You don’t think he made a few quid off that too?
Yeah Zakk Wylde must be kicking himself he didn’t apply himself more to American Football at school, huh?

 my point being that he’s been in the band what, 6 years now, and ultimately what has he done? Gone on stage to perform other peoples songs. And lets face it, you’re playing to an audience thats already won over before you’ve even set foot on stage. So ok, maybe not sitting on the bench at chelsea, but certainly coming on for the last 5 minutes when you’re 5 nil up.

He gets to play in front of thousands every night and pocket thousands of dollars each time. I’m not sure Dan, but I should say its better than working in an onion peeling factory. Who cares that he doesn’t get creative input into Ozzy’s tunes? Maybe he got offered the chance but didn’t want to?

Some decent names for songs , much better than Frantic anyway lol. Although I did have to laugh at the thought of The Unforgiven III ? I wonder how they are gonna pull that one off.
Also the album cover is on their site.
