I am watching and enjoying Big Brother. This, contrary to popular belief, does not make me a Heat magazine reading chav.

@ Dennis I *had* been watching and enjoying Big Brother very much until this week- I don’t know why, but I’m losing interest a bit.
I’m off on holiday for 2 weeks soon, hopefully that’ll wean me off it for good this year.
Saw The Mist a couple of weeks ago, cracking film

***SPOILERS***
I already knew before I went in that it had a seriously downbeat ending, but nothing could have prepared me for that lol. A seriously feel bad film!!
The only let down for me was the tentacle creature at the start… thought it just looked stupid. But the rest was great

Agreed about The Mist’s ending. Total downer. Just watched the American version of Funny Games. Jesus. Uneven, but grim, grim, grim. Just put the original German version on my Netflix. Guess I must like to feel like shit! :-D

In Bruges
Run Fatboy Run
Terrible Movie: Hancock
Excellent Movie: The Dark Knight (Heath Ledger is awesome, better than Nicholson)

No, its your orange tan, bleach blonded hair and penchant for wearing von dutch caps that does.

I should hate it, I know, cos some of it is SO badly written…but then every now and then there is a moment of genius. And that Will fella and Ralph McTell or whatever his name is are really good in it.
Mind, I saw the Halloween special and it was THE biggest load of shit I have ever watched in my life.

I don’t think it’s fair to knock the writing, seeing as all the early series were all written by a 19/20 year old who clearly had a lot of ideas but very little by way of experience / maturity. And it does have some genius bits as you say :) And it’s very tongue in cheek, so the special episodes are supposed to be shit! Wait till you see the musical! ;) It hasn’t been the same since Jonny died and got a new writer, but i think I’ll always feel a bit nostalgic about it :)
There - I defended you, now are you going to go to the Dames of Darkness festival on the 27th and support my little angel?

I mean please go to the gig and support them, not ‘go’ as in bugger off.

Might sound a bit cheesy, but I watched Scopophobia again over the weekend - absolutely awesome! I just think they all seemed so up for that gig, whether it was because it was Belfast or that it was being filmed I don’t know, but a fantstic energy and sound as always from the boys. I also watched the DVD of the Metallica rehearsal that came with ‘St Anger’. I know many people think the album’s crap (I think it’s excellent but I’m in a minority of one!) but the DVD is fantastic and showns them all playing at full pelt and as a really tight unit, which bearing in mind the trials and tribulations of getting the album finished is no mean feat!

Careful with any praise for St. Anger…there is a small cabal of us that don’t think it’s shit but we haven’t decided to make our presence known to the public yet. :-)
Watched the new Alan Ball (American Beauty, Six Feet Under) show, True Blood. Good fun. Not his best, but shows some promise, I think.

Yeah - the St Anger DVD is probably one of the best special edition releases. The sound on it pisses on the album production.
