just watched the dvd, good stuff. The section on ken talking about his stroke was touching. Neverr ealised he was married at the time, did they split after it? Thought he lives with his parents now. Terrible stuff, but he has made a good recovery for what he has been through.

Pity the quality couldn’t ahve been better for the dvds though, makes the PL doco look fantastic. I don’t like when you can barly hear the interviewer talking.

Only 2 more reissues too go!

Questions questions :D

I read that Ken and his wife divorced; he’s not living with his parents anymore though, he lives on his own.

Yeah, that’s the Kennedy autopsy shot…Wake Up is a great album, it’s got some tracks that didn’t make it onto Swansong as well as a Radio 1 session and some old Peel sessions. Well worth it. There’s also a Wake Up… DVD which has a couple of live shows (Symphony and Necroticism era) and all the video clips, also pretty good.

I got the Swansong reissue yesterday as well…I preferred the death cards and Heartwork demos to the stickers but I’m not complaining :) Still reckon the “extra track” is shit though

Sam did you see the latest interview with Bill, I sort of hope it doesn’t happen.. but concidering they said they would never reform and they did i wouldn’t be surprised if they did do a new album.. bill said its really up to Jeff and Mike, and Mikes mentioned before that Bill was showing him riffs and Songs that weren’t used from the Heartwork period.
Its cool to get to see them, but i do think its been too long to try and relive past glories by doing new material.

@ Divers: the Swansong documentary interview? I’m open to the idea to be honest, as long as they did a good job which I’m confident they would.

@ K_H: Yeah, I found scan of it - the “zombie” analogy was really irritating and I thought the photos were daft - Carcass have never had anything to do with zombies! I didn’t understand the bit where he refered to Fenriz from Darkthrone either. The writer was being a bit too clever and it didn’t work at all.

Fucking hell, emailed them off this morning and I got an interview back off the writer not too soon after. Here is what i wrote.

Dear Terrorizer,
I don’t buy your magazine every month, I only do when I see a band of interest so when I heard that Carcass were on the front I rushed out to get a copy. Its not often you get a Carcass interview now is it? So it should have been good, right? No is the answer. James Hoare, with all respect I have never read such meandering, hard to read and uninformative interview. Most of it was quotes of fan sites, old Carcass interviews and some bull about comparing Carcass albums to zombie flicks. And to top it off most of it was pictures and you only interviewed one member. I can hand on heart say it was the worst interview i have ever read, unlike the Capricorns one which was excellent. That interview was everything that the Carcass one should have been.

Hats off for missing an excellent opportunity to interview one of the greatest bands of all time.

Brendan,
Ireland.

The mistake i made was saying the interview was made up of old carcass interviews, I mistook a crap fan site reference for a band quote for which he pointed out. I just sent back an email reaffirming my points. Its a cracking mag but this interview really annoyed me.

I just got a reply to my reply which too be fair to the man he was rather nice so we are now best buddies.

Hey James,
Just had a look over the interview and i mistook the Metal Archives quote for an old band quote, apologies. But too be fair I read the interview 3 times and found my self getting annoyed by the way it flowed every time, i can honestly say I have never read an interview that confused me as much. “being as Liverpudlian as Boris Johnson apologies. A few miles to the right direction and we’d be speaking of Carcass as a band from the run down hamlets of historic Lancashire…” Sorry James but this interview was not your finest hour. The Capricorns interview on the other hand let the band do the talking and less about the writer, just go and have a look at the 2 interviews and compare them. And as well as that the Capricorns interview is a page less but seems to me to have more text.

James, I was honestly disappointed with this interview and of all the magazines to have a good one I expected Terrorizer to be the one. Its not as if Carcass will be around for years to come to rectify this mistake.

Brendan

That’s alright Brendan, don’t think I was being pissy about it with myreply! I’m totally cool with whatever you think, especially seeing asyour problem is largely with the style which is a obviously entirely amatter of personal taste. I’ve had loads of really good feedbackthough and remain proud of it, in fact this is the first negativething I’ve heard! You’re right in that it’s a shame I only got to talk to Jeff, I’d haveliked more time to at least talk to Bill for a bit of balance. All the best, James

Hats off too him for getting back to me. Can’t imagine that would happen with a letter to MH of Kerrap!

He also has Jeffs email address but won’t hand it over with out premission so he is going to email him to see what can be done. Exciting times Sammy boy!! Even if it comes to nothing at the very least Jeff Walker will know that there is a fanboy out there that has spent megabucks on Carcass.

Most of the coloured ones are US reissues, there were 2 each released for the first 3 albums, limited to 1000 and 700. So they usually come up on the US eBay, usually go for between $50 and $70 dollars. The Symphonies picture disc comes up on the UK and German eBay quite regularly, usually goes for €30-40.
