You shouldn’t start with shandy, it’s too much for you. You need to build up your resistance with something less powerful, like a rum and raisin ice-cream :p

Well, mulled wine wouldn’t be my first choice for a drink, but at least you made a weekend of it. :)

What exactly IS the decision? To indulge in a little social responsible drinking? Or to get fucked off your face and throw pints of beer at people’s grandmothers? :p

The decision is to drink only beer in a social context, and not to wild excess…though I reserve the right to pour beer over grannies

Be fair, Sam: the shit jokes will be coming whether you’re drunk or not, the only difference is whether you’ll remember them in the morning. :D

That’s true. Unfortunately I had already made a mental note that whoever pointed it out would have to be my partner in the three-legged 400 metre swimming hurdles relay…

The flipside of teetotalism is that it is also possible to drink alcohol regularly to excess and yet still be a wet, conservative, boring old fart.

Your medal was for lifetime achievement and mine was for funniest costume! And you only got yours so that you could never enter again. And there are techniques, you know. The three legged bit means you’re supposed to go over the hurdles together - not just drag your partner along by the ankle and run as fast as you can along the bottom of the pool, head-butting your way through all the obstacles. So I’m really sorry about that - I just wanted to win :(
