What kind of people is your wife mates with?

Apart from the fact that they are dedicated Take That fans, they are lovely, so don’t be nasty about them.

Oh wait, just remembered, they are West Bromwich Albion fans too. Yeah, fuck ‘em. Sad bastards!

Met a cool dude who helped me get Motorhead tickets.

I’m surprised you had any trouble getting Motorhead tickets. Whenever I go to see them they’re selling tickets on the night. First time I went they put the sold out sign up just as I was going in.

I understand your feelings about them not playing Wales but remember that even when you include Scotland and Wales we live on a small island and I bet we don’t have to travel any further to our nearest Metallica gig than the average American fan does to get to theirs.

I wanted tickets for the Friday date as my mates were going to that one. I believe that tickets are still on sale for the since then announced Saturday date.

I was almost too slow ;-)

Ok, I got tickets for the Birmingham date.

I’ve obviously paid over the odds, but the cost of tickets plus return flights between Birmingham and Cork still works out cheaper than the Dublin tickets on their own! (at least, by the current price they’re fetching on Ebay).

According to wiki - the Black Ice album has sold 5 million copies already

I bet Death Magnetic would have done the same if it wasnt covered in distortion.

AC/DC have been around longer and have a larger fanbase - they are also not really metal which makes them appeal to a larger audience.

Death Magnetic sold very well considering what it is.

I now have a copy of Black Ice - better than the last two efforts IMO.

But 5 million in 10 days is ridiculous ! I wonder how much it will end up selling.

It will quickly taper off, I think. The fans will all buy the album within the first week. AC/DC don’t really appeal to youngsters or hipsters who will hear a song on the radio and then go out and buy the album.

That is true, but they have been going since the early 70s so there is an older audience who still would be interested. I think also because there has been such a gap in albums. The last album “Stiff upper lip” didn’t sell that well I think.

and the thing is, older people buy albums alot more than the younger generation.

plus AC/DC are the sort of band that get passed on through generations
