Anyone here a student at Salford Uni ?

” Johnny Marr is to make his debut as a lecturer on Tuesday as the visiting professor of music at Salford University.

The former Smiths guitarist will talk to students about “mavericks” and “innovators” in Maxwell Hall, where he played one of The Smiths’ final concerts in 1986. He was appointed a year ago to hold workshops, masterclasses and talks.

Marr, who has lately been plying his trade in US indie outfit Modest Mouse, was one of the stars of the latest must-see BBC documentary hosted by Alan Yentob, The Story of the Guitar. “

I heard about that…Jammy sods!

I’d give my right arm for me to get close enough to ask him how to play Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others and so on…

..mind, I doubt he’d know how to play it one-handed anyway come to think of it..

You need two arms. One for operating an electric can opener, whilst reading Chaucer with the other.

PS

Just had a quick look and yes it is on YouTube, you need to search for “imagine” and “guitar” and “part 3” or some such, cos it was the third episode with all the good stuff in. :)

I am in the UK so I have no idea if these YouTube uploads will work elsewhere, cos when i try certain things on YouTube I get “This video is not available in your country” but worth a try.
