I’m not even sure the Wii plays DVD’s
Nope, even Wii games are still on CD-rom, hence all the whining about poor graphics. However I don’t care, Wii still is by far the best next gen console. :-)

um - Wii might have been released the same time as X360 andPS3 - but I’d hardly call it ‘next-gen’

Apart from downloadable games and content, Xbox 360 and PS3 have nothing but logical evolution (more memory and better graphics) even the controllers are exactly the same as the previous.
Although thumbs up for Sony, it’s amazing you can play games with a grill machine. (that must be the ugliest console ever!!)
Ok, the Wii could do with more memory, but I wouldn’t complain about the graphics, as there’s some real eye-catchers on the Wii. Innovative controls, that’s next gen!
A lot of the slag the Wii’s been getting is been caused by 3rd party developers who just want to make a quick buck without effort. As Nintendo had proven time and again it is possible to make visualy stunning games.

There are so many terrible games for the Wii, but the good ones really make it so worthwhile. Zelda, No More Heroes, Umbrella Chronicles, Lego Star Wars, Warioware etc. Nintendo are onto a good thing in trying to sell consoles and games to people who otherwise would not game at all, making it more social and changing the goalposts as well (WiiFit etc). But they’re also not neglecting the audience that’s already there. Lego Star Wars is a good example; I’ve heard of 6 years olds managing to get through all levels, but I’ve racked up probably about 30 hours of play and still only at 85% completion, because there’s so much more of these games than just getting through all levels. You can play at your own level which can only be a good thing.
I’ve heard too many people dismiss 360 games such as Katamari and Viva Pinata as a waste of 360 resources because they aren’t another pretty shoot em up. A lot of people just seem to reject anything unfamiliar or innovative, and at the end of the day how many times can you rehash the same scenario and same gameplay? I’ve heard quite a few times that developers are growing bored with producing shoot em ups, however that seems to be what sells.
And Dead Rising; Chop Til You Drop coming out on the Wii. Oh yes.
