maybe a re-release of troublegum, with a dvd of the band performing the album in its entirety like the webgig style, and an interview about their past etc.

Yes please, NOT a re-release of troublegum that’s their most overrated album… I don’t hate it though, but it’s my least favorite T? album… everyone always acts like it’s the only good thing they’ve ever done. :-/

It certainly ain´t the only good thing they´ve ever done. But when it came out it was the best thing I had EVER heard and today it´s no less good. It´s kind of different now and I think that the band has evolved out of that anyway and that one can´t listen to Troublegum with fresh ears anymore. Still it´s a damn good rock album and a 5.1 mix would give it a new expression. For example there´s a lot of good guitar tracks on the record and opening up that landscape would be great. Same thing with Infernal Love. Therapy? have many times since showed us that how honest band they are and that they don´t have to rely on the success of Troublegum. The recent albums are fucking killers and I truly love that stuff. Still I´m not afraid to say that I like Troublegum as well. But who am I to say anything? I watch the re-runs of Animal Hospital on TV and still like them too.

I was talking to a mate about troublegum and how i think its overrated the other day, then he said to me ‘and what album got you into therapy? in the first place’ had a good point, but i dont listen to it that much nowadays.

i think rereleasing remastered versions of old albums is a crud idea for a 20th anniversary. Who gives a shit if the production doesn;t sound as good as the rest of your record collection, really?? Why would you want your favourite records to all sound the same?? Megadeth rereleased all their stuff again and they didn’t sell particularly well or introduce the band to a younger audience…

I think T? should do a big tour to celebrate their 20th, that would be better!

and whats with the hate towards Troublegum?? Mikehell if you read this Troublegum is still my favourite album in the fucking World to put on on a Saturday night before i go out and get up to mischief in town, I always feel 20 feet tall when I go out after listening to it! (the drugs have nothing to do with it!)

who decides what numbers we celebrate? why dont we celebrate 21st anniversaries or 29 etc, all just as valid yet society dictates things to us.

No!! then mine wouldn’t be as special :)

But a vinyl box reissue would be great. If Nada Surf can get one (including albums not released by Barksuk, thier current label) then T? could get one.

Totally agree!

A big tour would be good. A small tour would do.

Just a tour. Please.

Something else that would be nice, and wouldn’t really cost the band or the label anything other than their time, would be an online written retrospective of their time in the band - from Andy and Mike especially cos obviously they’ve been in the band the longest, but also from Neil and hopefully from the likes of Fyfe, Graham, Martin etc etc.
I’d like to know what their tours with the manics were like etc etc how they felt during the Troublegum era when they were “successful” on a commercial level, and how they feel about the band “post-fame” for want of a better way of putting it, their highs/ lows, how they feel about certain albums, what they like/ don’t like etc etc etc Plus there must be some interesting and amusing stories.

The question and answers thing they did was great - a larger version of that but just written as their anecdotes throughout the band’s history would be ace.

Maybe have some gigs at unusual places.
I’d love the idea of T? doing a free open air gig on a barge in an Amsterdam canal or something like that.

Other than that maybe a tour through some of the smaller clubs that the band used to frequent back in the days and have good memories of , like Vooruit in Gent or Doornroosje in Nijmegen.

LOL - you think like I do so i find that very amusing! sorry, i’ll go back to my room now and dribble.

Great idea as someone said above about hearing a bit of inside dirt of life in the band during the ‘success’ years. I’d love to know stuff like what eejit came up with the idea behind the Die Laughing video etc!

Its just that the song is quite poppy and summery sounding ( despite the lyrical content ) and the video is dark and claustrophobic.

I didnt like that at all. My fave therapy? video is probably churchofnoise.
